Jack Johnson’s latest work “September Sessions Soundtrack” has a cover of a Jimmy Buffett tune. He covers “A Pirate Looks At 40″ It’s up for pre-order on his website Jack Johnson.com. It is slated for release on December 17.
I know there are forums on this site talking about Jack Johnson. In my opinion he’s a true parrothead at heart. If you haven’t seen a live Jack Johnson show his cover of APLAF is awesome. The rest of his work is just as good, I would suggest it to any parrothead.
The Peconic Montessori School has some Jimmy Buffett memorabila on eBay to help with it’s annual fund raiser.
During the past 3 years Jimmy so generously performed 3 Harvest Moon Benefit Concerts for our school. This year from now until December 21st Peconic Montessori School is offering Harvest Moon concert memorabilia on E-bay as a gift for tax-deductible donations to our school. If you wish to commit to the annual fund raiser please contact the school at (631) 287-4022 and ask for the Development Manager, Laurie Kraus.
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your support and patronage during the past three years. Jimmy’s generosity in performing The Harvest Moon Benefit Concerts provided Peconic Montessori the opportunity to develop into a first-rate Montessori elementary school. For this we are forever grateful.
As with most non-profit organizations, donations from fundraising comprise a significant percentage of the budget. Private schools institute an annual appeal to fund the major operations of the school while holding events and capital campaigns for specific projects. With the excellent foundation laid by Jimmy and fans like you, we are now launching our first annual appeal campaign. We hope that your interest in our school still remains and you will feel moved to consider Peconic Montessori when you close out your fiscal year. Any donation, small or large helps considerably.
The trilogy of Harvest Moon Concerts has left us with Buffett memorabilia; music, programs, tote bags, posters, t-shirts and memories. Some of these we will keep, especially the memories. The rest we have put onto E-bay to be shared with all of you. Fans that loved hearing Jimmy play in the intimate venues of Bay Street Theatre and Guild Hall will want to check out the offerings. There are five packages that include a select autographed item. You will find these and other great keepsakes by searching Peconic Montessori School when you visit E-bay.
Your support, whether purchasing concert memorabilia or contributing directly to our Annual Appeal, is most sincerely appreciated.
eBay has a pair of Signed Stage Sandals up for auction which Jimmy donated to the “People For The American Way“
The Palm Beach Post has an aritcle: “Buffett serenades the troops”
Buffett, who will not be performing during the holidays but will be “on the road.” He’s hoping for a white Christmas in Aspen and then will spend New Year’s in Panama, where the surfing and fishing — both passions for the troubadour — are rumored to be some of the best anywhere.
If you can afford the ticket ($1,000 last year), a spring show at The Breakers Beach Club to benefit the Academy of the Palm Beaches should be announced soon.”
