Mr. Dailey worked with Buffett from 1975 to 1982. He contributed to Buffett recordings that included “Havana Daydreamin’,” “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes,” “Son of a Son of a Sailor,” “You Had To Be There,” “Volcano,” “Coconut Telegraph” and “Somewhere Over China.” He last recorded with Buffett at a Coral Reefer reunion concert two years ago.
The band was originally a fictitious group Buffett would refer to onstage when he worked solo. He formed a touring group in the mid-1970s that included Mr. Dailey.
