The Indianapolis Star has a review of last night’s show Parrotheads see mostly smooth sailing

Last night’s show in Indianapolis was great. The crowd was happening, a lot of costumes, a lot of drinking. Alan Jackson did appear onstage for three songs with Jimmy Buffett, the first song was Five O’clock Somewhere where Mac McAnally sung Alan’s lines, until verse three, then Alan was introduced onstage. Alan and Jimmy sung the rest of that song, then announced (what it sounded like on the lawn) that the second song (again, It’s Five O’clock Somewhere)was being recorded for the video! The final song with Alan was Margaritaville, which the duo had recorded for one of Alan’s records a few years ago.
The show was great! Thanks Jimmy for a wonderful time!

The Chicago Sun-Times has an interview with Jimmy Buffett: “A little-bit-country Buffett shows Parrotheads the way to next tiki bar“.
The duet (It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere) “is screaming up the country charts,” Buffett chuckled. “I figured I hadn’t been there in a while and I’d take a ride. Alan (Jackson) called me. He had this song [written by Jim 'Moose' Brown and Don Rollins], and if you look, country has been mimicking me and I get mentioned in a lot of songs. I appreciate it, and the singers are really nice guys.” … expect Jackson to drop in on Buffett’s show Thursday in Indianapolis.
“We’re getting ready to put a Margaritaville [store] in Hono-lulu,” Buffett said.
Later this year Buffett is opening a Cheeseburger in Paradise in the Oak Brook-Downers Grove area (Chicago).

From Joe: This was in today’s NY Daily News (6/23/03)
Billy Joel doesn’t usually dine with the maitre d’ at the restaurants he frequents, but he made an exception on Saturday. His girlfriend, Kate Lee, has signed on as hostess of Jeff and Eddie’s, the new Sag Harbor seafood joint owned by Jeff Resnick and and lawyer Eddie Burke Jr. Lee, 25, who had the night off, joined the 54-year-old Piano Man at a table with Jimmy Buffett, the bistro’s landlord.
Also from today’s NY Post: BILLY Joel’s girlfriend, Kate Lee, has herself a new summer job. The 25-year-old culinary student, who looks remarkably like Joel’s daughter Alexa, is now hostessing at Joel’s favorite new Sag Harbor restaurant, Jeff & Eddie’s. “Joel came in Saturday night with her and Jimmy Buffett,” our spy laughed. “She obviously wasn’t working that night, but how weird is that? He’ll come in and she’ll have to seat him.”

From Dan Colachicco: I’m a director for an organization based in Orlando called the Alzheimer Resource Center. Their focus is on helping and supporting the caregiver for family members who have Alzheimer Disease. Unfortunately, these caregivers are often thrust into a terribly dificult role of caring for a loved one with AD, and there isn’t much of a support mechenism for them to turn to.
We are holding a charity auction on Sunday in Orlando and dedicating it to Jimmy’s dad. If you know anyone who might like to attend, please let them know. Our web address is www.alzheimerresourcecenter.com.
