A big package of stories about Jimmy Buffett ran in The News & Observer of Raleigh on Sunday. Includes quotes in two stories, and an interview with a local radio station.
“After all these years, Parrotheads still flock to Buffett”.
“Secondhand stories of the ‘Son of the Son of a Sailor’ ”
“Time to “Chill” in Margaritaville”
In an interview with WRAL-FM, he said he’s especially pleased with the new album: “I’m just glad I’m still writing songs that, to me, meet the standard that the early material set a long time ago,” he said. “Let’s face it, my life has changed and a lot of people say that success detracts from or deteriorates your writing style. … But this one that’s coming up, I think for some really weird reason, I’ve hit my stride again.”

Mac McAnally will be playing the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on Friday, September 3 at 8PM. Tickets are $35.00 General Admission / $45.00 VIP.
This date is the Friday before the [i:c43f58a663]unconfirmed[/i:c43f58a663] Jimmy Buffett show at Jones Beach (Saturday, Sept. 4).
I believe it is safe to say that Jimmy’s rumored Jones Beach date will soon become a reality, since it is unlikely that Mac would confirm a Long Island date if the Great Woods shows were any possibility.
Here’s the info for the Talkhouse:

Myrtle Beach Online has an article on the Myrtle Beach Margaritaville: “Grand Strand Development, Projects hope to enhance entertainment reputation”
A restaurant from Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville chain will anchor a new, Caribbean-theme addition to Broadway at the Beach by midsummer.
Broadway’s owner, Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc., has not yet revealed the names of the new retailers in the 50,000-square-foot addition or a more specific opening date for Buffett’s island-themed, 14,000-square-foot restaurant.
Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville will be a new prototype the chain is building in about a dozen locations, including Las Vegas.
