July 29th, 2005 4:35 pm       3 Comments »

From John Shea (Owner of Trader Eds): At the recent Buffett concert at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield MA there was an unfortunate accident at a tailgate party. I know because i was three feet from it. A gas grill exploded ,and three of my closest friends were badly burned. None of these people have health insurance and two will continued treatment for some time to come.

We are hosting a “FUN RAISER” at Trader Eds Pool Bar in Hyannis MA , on Monday August 8th 6-10 pm . The staff of Trader Eds who were at the concert, will be donating all their tips to the fund raiser. Also many people who live on cape cod have donated some very generous items for our silent auction. Names like Bobby Orr, Teddy Brusci, Steve Grogan, and John Havlicek have stepped up to the plate and donated items to this worthy cause. Our goal is to raise $30,000.

Jimmy Buffett On Long Island

July 24th, 2005 9:40 pm       9 Comments »

Hello fellow BN’ers,

Just got back from the Buffett show on Long Island, what an amazing show!! Just Jimmy & his guitar singing in the vineyards. It was great to just see Jimmy play solo, it was just like the old performances, he kept referring to himself as the original Coral Reefer. He apologized for not playing Jones Beach this year, but he said “don’t worry, yes, we are definately playing Jones Beach next year”. He also stated that he he working on a new book dealing with the occurances that happened while recording the ‘Volcano’ album. He said it’s tentatively titled “Mudbath”. Jimmy was joking with the crowd, and talked alot between the songs, he really seemed to be enjoying himself. Here’s the setlist, it may be a little out of order:

Changes In Latitudes
Wino & I Know
Volcano
Hey Good Lookin’
Cheeseburger In Paradise
Son of a Son of a Sailor
Come Monday
Jolly Mon
Grapefruit, Juicyfruit
It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere
Margaritaville

An unbelieveable show!! By the way, I was in the 1st row!!!

Buffett to Appear in the movie Hoot

July 15th, 2005 4:58 pm       10 Comments »

Jimmy Buffett will have a small role in the movie Hoot according to an article in the Orlando Sentinel: Tale’s ending? It’s a ‘Hoot’

Zak Dahlheimer earned a $1,000 scholarship and $1,000 for his school by penning an alternative ending to Hiaasen’s novel, his first aimed at youth. … Zak will travel to Fort Lauderdale July 21 and 22 to play a classroom extra in the film, which is scheduled to be released in spring 2006, said Ernie Malik, the film’s publicist. Singer Jimmy Buffett is co-producing the film and will play Zak’s teacher.
