“Volcanic Monserrat reemerging from the ashes”
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/myrtlebeachonline/living/travel/12072491.htm
[i:83f5561a51]Ten years ago this month, Montserrat’s Soufriere Hills volcano erupted, driving off most of the island’s residents — as well as most of its tourist trade. Now officials hope the opening of a new airport will bring back leisure travelers.
In 1979, Jimmy Buffett climbed the then-dormant volcano and returned the same day to the studio to write and record an unusually prophetic hit, Volcano:
Now I don’t know
I don’t know where I’m a gonna go
When the volcano blow[/i:83f5561a51]

From the Boca Beacon: ‘Hoot’ shoot still on despite Dennis
http://www.bocabeacon.com/story.htbml?number=899
[i:fcdd8289e1]For a few hours late Wednesday it appeared that Hurricane Dennis might delay the arrival of the cast and crew of the Wil Shriner movie Hoot slated to be filmed on the island beginning Monday, July 11.
According to Ernie Malik, the production publicist, Monday’s filming will take place on the golf course of the Gasparilla Inn. On Tuesday, the production moves to the area of Whidden’s Marina and the Boca Grande Marina. On Wednesday, you won’t have to look hard to get a glimpse of the cast and crew – they will be filming on Park Avenue. On Thursday and Friday, filming will be centered around Journey’s End, a cluster of homes and cottages on the National Register of Historic Places located on 18th Street.
Co-producer Jimmy Buffett, who will record the movie’s music, suggested using Boca Grande as the fictional Florida town of Cocoanut Cove, where most of the movie’s action takes place.[/i:fcdd8289e1]

[i:177636228f]Buffett made a visit to Margaritaville on Tuesday morning, surprising the staff and a few customers dining at the Broadway at the Beach restaurant in Myrtle Beach, according to a restaurant manager.
Buffett, who’s known for surprise visits, went through the restaurant’s kitchen and mostly interacted with the staff, said Joe DeLuca, assistant general manager at Margaritaville. He told staffers he’d be back in the fall, he said.[/i:177636228f]

Jeff Bridges is so much more than an actor…he expresses himself in many ways and speaks to the masses through illustrations, sculptures, motion pictures, and also through music. His lyrics are slightly mysterious, his sounds can be rock and roll, jazz or even reggae. You will find yourself pondering his words and his music infecting your soul. Jeff Bridges has an album entitled BE HERE SOON which is available from Jimmy Buffett’s Mailboat Records label.
