Jon Goodwin is a songwriter extraordinaire. He has several albums (How I Wasted My Life, State of the Artist, Thorny, and Truth Du Jour) to his credit and has contributed songs which have been used in major motion pictures. His songs are very pensive, strong, and intriguing. He creates visual art as well. He has worked with some great musicians and was even covered on the Jeff Bridges album “Be Here Soon.” On this week’s episode, we talk with Jon Goodwin himself as well as friends Actor/Musician Jeff Bridges, and Musical Legend Michael McDonald.

During the concert in Portland, Jimmy said that the good news is that it looks like he is going to be building a new boat up in the Northwest, so he will be coming back more often.

Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band will be back in the studio (Shrimpboat Sounds) in January 2006 to work on a new album.

Some updates on the Meeting of the Minds Convention which takes place in Key West Nov 3rd to Nov 6th.

The Meeting of the Minds, a music festival and convention of sorts for Jimmy Buffett fans, is scheduled to start next week – but is up in the air because it’s not clear whether hotels will have power and whether the host hotel can fix its damage. “If there’s any possible way, we’ll be there,” convention director Alex Leist said from New Jersey.

Anyone see CSI Las Vegas last night? About 10 minutes into the show, when they were searching a house for evidence at a crime scene, one of the CSI guy pulls out a brown tee shirt from a knapsack and it’s got.. a circle with.”Jimmy Buffett” on it, & some palm trees.

Then 25 minutes into it, up pulls this hippie chick asking about the missing family and she tells them that the mother had left work early on Friday to…go to the Jimmy Buffett concert in Tahoe. That’s all of the references to Jimmy in the show however they also found pot crowing in the basement – Prior to finding it they were going through some papers & found a $2000 monthly electrical bill. – I will say I pegged the herb production immediately with that clue.
