   I’ve seen Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band nearly twenty times over the course of the last 20 years and never, never have I seen them so loose and having such a good time. Simply put, the were marvelous. We even had a good time interacting with the band before the show. (The Fillmore has foure balconies on the right side of the auditorium, one of which where the CRB was hanging out before the show. This show was different for them and they seemed liked they really enjoyed the change. The set list was incredible with Jimmy dispensing with the stadium format and just playing the music he (and the Parrothead audience) enjoys.

   It was obvious by his demeanor and the comments that he made on stage that he felt honored and priviledged to play at the hallowed halls of the Fillmore Auditorium (it was also obvious that he arranged the set list to include so many of the great songs of the great bands of the past: The Grateful Dead, Hendrix, CSN, Neil Young, Springteen). He and the band gave a great performance and it seemed like they laughed alot and really enjoyed being so close to the very enthusiatic crowd. Jimmy commented that “the Coral Reefer Band has never played a room with chandeliers!” but that they “felt right at home playing in a bar room!”

   It was a memorable night and I was thrilled to be in the small audience of about 1000 people. As Jimmy Buffett plow ahead in the 21st century all I can say is you had to be there….
