"Writers group to hold meet-and-greet
The Peace River Center for Writers will hold a "meet-and-greet" evening with adventure-travel writer Tim Cahill from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Punta Gorda Woman’s Club, 118 Sullivan St. in Punta Gorda.
A founding editor and now editor-at-large for "Outside" magazine, Cahill is the author of nine books. His first book, "Buried Dreams," a true crime story of serial killer John Wayne Gacy, became a national best-seller, but Cahill is better known for his tales of extreme adventure travel.
The center will have a celebrity book sale following Cahill’s talk. Books by Cahill, Thomas McGuane, Randy Wayne White, James W. Hall, [b:2af3876fd1]Jimmy Buffett[/b:2af3876fd1] and others have been [b:2af3876fd1]autographed[/b:2af3876fd1] and donated by the authors to be auctioned off to benefit the center.
