Radio station WPLJ New York was mocking the ex-Today host’s ratings woes in a send-up set to the tune of Jimmy Buffett’s "Margaritaville." To hear the song, click here (mp3 file – this may open a Quicktime file).
"They hired a honey for sick lots of money/hoping their news would become number one," goes the opening lyric. "They’re not even lurking. The plan isn’t working/Can’t beat Brian Williams or Charlie Gibson."
And here comes the chorus: "Cause poor Katie Couric can’t get out of her own way/And I bet she’s sorry that she left Today." The song was written and performed by Todd Pettengill, co-host of WPLJ’s Morning Show.

The Biloxi Sun Herald has a nice interview with Greg "Fingers" Taylor "Chance meeting makes for chance of a lifetime"
And your background with Buffett?
"Buffett called me into Nashville (about 1975) when he got his recording contract with ABC Dunhill, and I started making albums with him back then. I think we ended up making about 30 or 35 albums….The brand new one should be out any day now. I got to work on that again. I left him, I was gone between 2001 up until recently. And I played with him 2 or 3 times on his tour this year. I’m going to Vegas here in about a week, probably play with him at the MGM. So we’re kind of getting it back together. We took a little hiatus from each other."

The UPI has an article "Buffett takes ‘The Weather’ on new album"
U.S. singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett decided not to take the "easy" route on his new album, "Take the Weather With You."
"The most logical thing would’ve been to make ‘License to Chill 2,’" Buffett says referring to his chart-topping 2004 album filled with duets with some of country music’s biggest stars.
"I’ve never been one to try to force the magic, so I just wanted to write some good songs and get some good songs by other people and just make a Jimmy Buffett record — which is just what I did."
