From an article in the Ottowa Citizen: "Canadian seafood not welcome at Jimmy Buffett’s buffet". Jimmy Buffett has banned Canadian seafood from Margaritaville Cafes in an effort to raise awareness about the Canadian seal hunt.

"Margaritaville Cafes will not be purchasing or serving Canadian seafood products until the Canadian government ends the commercial seal hunt permanently," Mr. Buffett said yesterday in a statement.

"I do not look at this as one nation telling another how to best manage its affairs. I view it as an effort to make humans more humane in the way they manage the planet."

Peter Mayer is in a world of his own as a songwriter, and a flawless guitar player. He is the front man for the Peter Mayer Group (formerly known as PM), and has been the lead guitarist in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band for almost 20 years.

He is the special guest on Time After Island Time this week and along with music from him, his band members R. Scott Bryan and Vincent Varvel, he plays unplugged for all of you listeners. He plays his favorite PM song, and explains why…and also plays the song "India" and talks about how the song came to be. From an article at ContactMusic.com: Chesney To Produce Willie Nelson’s Next Album

Country superstar Kenny Chesney is set to add producer to his impressive resume after Willie Nelson personally asked him to take charge of his upcoming covers album. Nelson plans to record songs written by Kris Kistofferson, Randy Newman and Jimmy Buffett on the new project with Chesney at the controls. The pair have been pals ever since Chesney sang Nelson’s "The Last Thing I Needed" at a televised tribute concert to the grizzled country star in 2003.

Wonder which song of Jimmy’s Willie will record.

After all, another one of his idols is road warrior Jimmy Buffett. "As a performer for so long you have this mentality of [wanting] everybody who comes to your show to be Parrotheads," Hicks explained, using the nickname given to Buffett’s loyal followers. "The Parrothead mentality is like a gathering, a social event — it’s not only about the music, but it’s about the people you meet all over the country. That’s what I strive for as a performer: to have a traveling circus of fans."

Jimmy and Jane Buffett attended the Ninth Annual Child Advocacy Award Dinner on December 4th. The dinner raised more than $6.5 million to battle child and adolescent psychiatric disorders. Among the items being auctioned off was a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" Jimmy Buffett concert package.
