From an article in The Daily Advertiser: "Miles is the Man

NO. 9 HORSE IN THE 10TH RACE: Pulaski County, a horse housed by Last Mango Stables, and owned by a number of New Orleans Saints’ personnel and players, will make its debut tonight at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans in the 10th race.

PC, as the horse is more affectionately known, is co-owned by several people, including Sean Payton, Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Mr. Margaritaville Jimmy Buffett.

Trained by Tom Amoss and ridden by Eddie Martin, Pulaski County is projected at 6-to-1 odds. PC will race against 11 other maidens in the six-furlong race.

"I always go for the nine horse," Brees said. "It was something that was dreamed up in the offseason and was interesting. Now that it’s football season, my focus is completely on football. I just read e-mail occassionally and I’ve seen pictures. I haven’t had time to go down to the stables."

Update: The results of the race - Jimmy’s horse SHOWED!!! (3rd) behind Sagaponack (1st) and Proper Paul (2nd).

The Arizona Republic has an article on the grand opening of the new Margaritaville: "Arizona’s first Margaritaville opens in Glendale". There’s also a video of the grand opening.

Jimmy Buffett’s first Margaritaville Café in Arizona officially opened today in true Parrothead fashion, with Pink Cadillac Margaritas, Volcano Nachos, clowns on stilts and colorfully dressed employees dancing to It’s Five O’clock Somewhere.

Developers, local dignitaries and members of the media gathered to welcome the latest addition to Westgate City Center, the Glendale entertainment and dining district at Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue.

The two-story 20,000-square-foot restaurant features three bars, an airplane hanging from the ceiling, fishing boat booths and a gift shop. It sells everything from shirts and sandals to mini surf boards.

Time After Island Time On Demand presents a special on pedal steel guitarist, studio musician, performer and Coral Reefer DOYLE GRISHAM (the show originally aired in January 2007 and is produced by Paul Leslie & Jeff Pike).

Doyle’s pedal steel guitar playing was once referred to as "tasty" by Rolling Stone magazine, and we have to agree. He has appeared on many classic and modern country albums, as well as countless albums from Jimmy Buffett. All of those great classic Buffett songs from the 1970s that featured pedal steel guitar–Come Monday, Why Don’t We Get Drunk…, He Went to Paris, the list goes on and on. In fact, with the exception of one Buffett album–EVERY Buffett album which features pedal steel guitar owes credit to Doyle Grisham.

Listen to Doyle Grisham’s show on TAIT On Demand only at BuffettNews.com.
