From the Miami Herald: "Don’t bet on casino action for Buffett"
In a Dec. 7 e-mail, lobbyist Jeffrey Sharkey asked George LeMieux for a 15-minute chat "about the gaming issue. I know you are probably tired of it. The governor and Buffett talked about it, and I wanted to get your insights into an idea.”
But the talk never happened, Sharkey said, due to scheduling difficulties. He added that Buffett had no interest in a casino venture in Florida — though the singer agreed last year to develop a Margaritavilla-themed casino in Biloxi, Miss., with Harrah’s.
The talk would have touched on Crist’s contested gambling agreement with the Seminole Tribe and other Florida issues that interest Buffett, Sharkey said, including the environment.

Jimmy Buffett is rumored to be appearing at a Super Bowl party according to an article in The Arizona Republic: "21 celeb-studded Super Bowl parties". More than likely if Jimmy does appear it will be at the newly open Margaritaville in Glendale AZ.
To hear them tell it, just about every promoter throwing a Super Bowl party in the Valley is trying to book the Black Eyed Peas member. Few organizers will be specific about what talent they’re in actual contract talks with, but most have name-dropped such performers as Kid Rock, Kanye West, Prince and Jimmy Buffett.
Update: The latest unconfirmed rumor has Jimmy appearing the the MSM Big Game Bash at the Margaritaville in Glendale AZ.

Thanks to MacFan for passing this along to us: Jimmy Buffett took the stage around 2:00 am at Baz Bar on the harbor in St Barts. He played 8 songs, "What I Say" (Ray Charles), "Brown Eyed Girl", "Volcano", "Margaritaville", "No Woman No Cry", "For What It’s Worth" (Buffalo Springfield), "Autour du Rocher," "You Can’t Always Get What You Want" (the Rolling Stones).
It was awesome! Savannah Jane was there, along with a bunch of people from Saturday Night Live and The Office. My family spotted him before he took the stage and we were lucky enough to get right in front of him for his set. Jimmy had a great time and you can tell he absolutely loves performing … First time I’ve ever seen him in shoes!
Earlier yesterday I saw Jimmy getting Groovy ready in Gustavia Harbor for the annual New Year’s boat race on St. Barths.
