Jimmy Buffett is playing an impromptu show at the new Margaritaville Restaurant in Glendale AZ on April 9th. The concert will be outside the new Margaritaville by the fountains. The show is expected to start between 6:00 and 6:30 pm. They are expecting about 4000 people because its not being promoted or advertised. For a chance to get tickets by the stage go there anytime after the April 2nd and fill out an entry for a drawing. (thanks to From SailAway82 for passing that along to us)

We welcome back the Father of Modern Calypso–Mr. Irving Burgie to Time After Island Time. Irving Burgie, or as he is sometimes known Lord Burgess, wrote many classic songs of the Caribbean such as Day-O, Jamaica Farewell. Burgie composed some 34 songs for the Legendary Harry Belafonte including 8 of the 11 songs on Belafonte’s classic Calypso album. From 1956 to 1957, "Calypso" was the first album of any kind to sell One Million copies. He also wrote songs for the Kingston Trio during the group’s heyday.

Vocalist and songwriter Deborah McColl, who was the first Coral Reefer backup singer, is reuniting with Phil Rolleston and Thom Tollerson of her folk trio the Kindred Spirit. McColl is known to many for singing with Jimmy Buffett in his Coral Reefer Band from 1978-1982. Her vocals were captured on the live record "You Had to Be There," (1978) and on songs like "Steamer." She contributed songwriting on a couple of songs released by Buffett. Her folk trio, the Kindred Spirit launched her into the world of music. McColl is also a solo artist and released her album "Naked in the Garden." She has launched a new website at www.deborahmccoll.com
The reunion concert will take place at the 106 West Theatre. Each evening will feature two sets.
