From MSNBC: “Trump Marina to become Margaritaville”
In recent years, the Trump Marina Hotel Casino has been wasting away in Atlantic City’s ultra-competitive casino market, searching for its lost shaker of salt, if you will.
Now, it’s about to be reborn with a tropical theme under new owners who are bringing singer Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville” brand to the Northeast in hopes of reviving a property that had become as listless as the hero of Buffett’s hit song.
From Philly.com: Trump Marina casino being sold for $316M”
A New York gambling company that specializes in financing and developing entertainment resorts is buying Atlantic City’s Trump Marina Hotel Casino for $316 million, and will rename and rebrand it Margaritaville, Trump officials said this morning.
“When you look at the location of the Marina and the Margaritaville theme, there is nothing better than having that cove,” Juliano said. “It’s really a terrific location.”
From a press release by Trump Entertainment Resorts:
Upon successful acquisition of the property, Coastal Marina will re-brand and refurbish the property into a new destination resort under the “Margaritaville™” brand. Richard T. Fields, chairman of Coastal Marina, said: “Together with Jimmy Buffett’s team at Margaritaville™, our plans are to create an exciting new property that we believe will tap its full potential and make it one of the most successful destination gaming resorts in Atlantic City.

Margaritaville casino Atlantic City will be a welcome addition to the city! I plan on walking around with flip flops and beverage in hand. Hopefully they will have some attractive cocktail servers etc. See you next summer, chilling with Jimmy Buffet!

Looking forward to the welcome change. Hope all is going well with the integration of the new Casino and lifestyle. Atlantic City needs to set the example and have more “bursts of energy” if you may, to boost our economy and our spirits. It will only help to move forward with this in a positive way.

Can’t wait for Trump Marina to become MARGARITAVILLE! We are all SO looking forward to this exciting and FUN change. The outdoor deck sounds great, but perhaps down the road you can create a beautiful tropical indoor pool/atrium area as well so we can enjoy it year round.
Hope the deal is completed soon. Good Luck.

Well don’t hold your breath waiting for Margaritaville in Atlantic City….if it were coming they would be advertising for the Summer. I think it is all but a dead deal like all the other new casinos that have pulled out. It is very sad for the workers at this site, they were so lokking forward to this project coming.

I believe the Margaritaville concept will be welcomed with open arms as it will be representative of the Jersey Shore Lifestyle (Tropical and Layed Back). It will have something for everyone to partake in, whether you like gaming or boating or both, or you just want a comfortable place to hang out with friends Margaritaville will be that place. I CAN’T WAIT !!!! It is Long Overdue.
