Just made it home from the Buffett for Obama concert in Tampa. As the one and only encore song, Jimmy dedicated Last Mango in Paris to Captain Tony and Ed Bradley, and he sang it through tears. Before he began the song, Jimmy said, “Ed and Tony would never believe this.”
It was a moving experience. I was lucky enough to be in the second row, which was a blessing, since the Ford Amphitheatre was totally packed.
Sail on, Captain Tony . . . you’ll be missed, but your spirit shall live on.

My wife and I just got back from the show.It was a realy good time.It was our eighth Buffett concert and even though it was short it was great. The set list was packed with all the big hits.I was very disapointed that Barack did not show up,but it was very moving when Jimmy dedicated “Last mango in Paris” to Captain Tony,My wife and I had not heard of his passing and were very sad (we had met Captian Tony many times in key West)It was a great way to end the show.I hope you all go out and vote on tuesday!!!

I am the biggest Parrothead, but I am still sick Jimmy would perform at an Obama rally. I can’t believe he publicly supports Hussain Osama, I mean Obama. He should remain out of politics as most fans probably aren’t Dems.

Jimmy what are you thinking!!! Barry Obama is not what americans need. I will never listen to your music ever again. Buffet needs to stop smoking so much weed and clear the smoke from your brain DUDE!!

Hey fox 13..its Buffett, not Buffet

This was the most disappointing news I’ve received in a while. I was the biggest fan, but to come out and publicly support this man is just wrong. Too bad.

Does anyone know who in the band showed up? Looks like Utley was there, can’t believe a guy like Mac would be there.

Listen, Parrotheads are peaceful, loving individuals. Give jimmy a break and let him support who he wants. That doesn’t make me love him any less just because I don’t particularly agree with his political standpoint. So stop the bickering and just listen to the music.

Great concert. Lots of fun.
If you boycott all the entertainers that are supporting Obama, you might as well sell your TV’s and radios. You won’t have much use for them.
Jimmy makes his choice, we make our choices and we all are happy we live in America.

one more thing, yes of course Jimmy has ALWAYS been a democrat. that is very true and we love him anyway. But the reality is and JImmy knows this as well, that Jimmy would not be remotely as rich as he is if it wasn’t for US rich Republicans.!! lol

i guess he decided Far Side of the World was no longer relevant - “I ran away from politics, its too bizarre at home…” You can’t get any more bizarre than it is now.

do you remember the Clinton years?
GREAT economy, low gas prices, great stock market, other countries didn’t hate us……………what planet do you people live on?
you are a bunch of SCARED racists/bigots, thats why you are scared!
we are in a war that should have NEVER been started!
10billon dollars a month to Cheany’s Haliburton and Blackwater “no bid”
contractors! While Iraq has $100billon in oil money.
yeah we’ve been misled alright, by Republican dictatorship!

republicans scare tactics won’t work this election!

It is great that Jimmy Buffett came out and is supporting Obama in this election. At least this long time parrothead is in total agreement with that sentiment. I cannot speak for my parrothead chapter, but I also believe that most of the fellow Parrotheads in the North Coast Parrothead Club are Obama supporters also.
I live in Cleveland, OH where Obama was at a rally with Bruce Springsteen on a mall in downtown Cleveland yesterday. The rally drew a crowd estimated to be in excess of 80,000 people. Some had to park more than a mile away and had to wait three hours for the rally to start. At the same time, the Cleveland Browns were playing in front of more than 73,000 fans at the Browns stadium right behind the rally site.
At the same time about two miles away, there were lines snaking around the building with people waiting up to two hours to exercise the early voting privilege in Ohio this year. They are expecting a record turnout here in Ohio with as much as 80% of registered voters casting a ballot. In Ohio, heavy turnout strongly favors the democratic candidates and among those early voters, exit polls are showing almost 60% are voting for Obama.
I would have loved to see Jimmy Buffett at a political rally, but The Boss is just as good. His music is much different than Jimmy’s, but they are both great performers and I have seen plenty of their concerts over the years.

If Jimmy wants to “spread the wealth” by supporting an Obama , why doesn’t he reduce his ticket prices so there is more money in my pocket!!

Jimmy Spreads The Wealth By Paying Taxes on his high Ticket Prices which he doesn`t mind paying. His Friend Warren Buffett The Worlds Richest Man and Most Astute Invester says his taxes should be increased.Warren Buffett by the way is Obama`s Economic Adviser. It`s Wonderful to know that there`s at least two rich intelligent people who are Pro Obama. The Wealth Should Be Spread to the Real Workers who Toil so that the Rich Elite Class can Live Like Kings
