Buffett could become part owner of the Dolphins Review of the Atlanta Lakewood Show
Apr 17

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band kicked off the 2009 Summerzcool tour at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta GA on Thursday April 16th.

The set list for the show is now available along with comments from those who listened to the show on Radio Margaritaville.

Jimmy began the show with the song “Lage Nom Ai” which he last performed live in Irvine CA on April 29th, 2000. Jimmy debuted a new song he wrote called “Summerzcool”. The first set also included ” MaƱana” and “Conky Tonkin” (with Nadirah on vocals).

The second set began with some classics including “My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink And I Don’t Love Jesus” (Mac with Jimmy on ukulele), “I Heard I Was In Town”, and “Last Mango In Paris”. Jimmy then did the new song “I Feel Like Goin’ Surfin’ In A Hurricane” which he said was co-written with Will Kimbrough. Other songs included “A Lot To Drink About”, “Coast Of Carolina” and Jesse Winchester’s “Rhumba Man”.

Encores included “We Are The People Our Parents Warned Us About”, “Yellow Submarine” (Beatles cover), and Jimmy finished the show with “He Went To Paris” (for Bob Dylan)

The best show I have seen of his in years the cover of Yellow Submarine in the encore pushed it over the top then to finiish with the second encore alone singing He went to Paris. Amazing absolutly amazing

Great show! The stage background was beautiful and complimented the music. the set was good with new songs but I did miss Fruit Cakes and some of my old favorites. I don’t think jimmy needs to do covers. He has too many great songs that his fans love to hear over and over and OVER! See you next week in Charlotte!
