The new issue of Rolling Stone (June 11th issue) has a short article ““Recession, Trip to Africa inspire new Jimmy Buffett album“. The article mentions a new album tentatively titled “Buffet Hotel” (with the second “T” left off) and named after an African “train station/whorehouse” he saw in Bamako. The album will be released later this year. Jimmy talks about his new songs and trip to Africa, as well as other new songs he might play on tour later this year.

From the Press of Atlantic City: “Trump Marina deal on hold”
Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. and the proposed buyer of Trump Marina Hotel Casino are trying to salvage a $270 million deal for the aging property.
New York gaming group Coastal Marina LLC is facing a deadline today to complete the purchase of Trump Marina, the weakest performer in the bankrupt casino empire once controlled by Donald Trump.
Coastal Marina wants to team up with Jimmy Buffett to transform Trump Marina into a Margaritaville-themed casino inspired by the singer’s “Margaritaville” hit song from the 1970s.
From the AP Press: “NJ Trump Marina sale not imminent”
Updates:
Online Casino Advisory: “Trump Marina Casino Sale Delayed by Financial Difficulties”
Press of Atlantic City: “Still no deal for turning Atlantic City’s Trump Marina into Margaritaville“
Margaritaville.com has posted an announcement on the October 2009 tour dates that were originally announced back in February:

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and look forward to seeing you back in Las Vegas and on the West Coast in 2010!

The set list for the show is now available along with comments from those who listened to the show on Radio Margaritaville.
One noticeable change to the set list from Saturday’s show included the addition of the song “Landfall” during the encores (last performed on February 17, 1998 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan).
The 2009 tour continues on Thursday night May 21st at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA.
A review of the show is available: “Jimmy Buffett in Concord”
Jimmy Buffett sees the big picture. He doesn’t let the little things – details that might drive other artists nuts – get in the way of entertaining an audience.
“There’s a string out of tune on this guitar,” the 62-year-old singer-songwriter said during his concert Tuesday at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord. “But it doesn’t matter because we are going to play `Margaritaville.’”
