A reliable source has mentioned the shows that were originally scheduled to take place in October are being removed from the 2009 Summerzcool Tour. Shows include 10/15 San Diego, 10/17 Las Vegas, 10/21 Seattle, and 10/24 Las Vegas. No word yet on if the shows will be rescheduled. These dates were originally announced back on February 2, 2009.
It is rumored that the change in plans to the tour dates were made to accommodate a show at the Landshark Stadium in October.
The shows that are scheduled to take place in November are still likely to happen. This includes 11/19 Toronto, 11/21 Uncasville CT, and 11/24 New York. Once we have more information we will pass it along.

The bottomline is the October tour dates were Jimmy’s back-up plan in case the stadium deal didn’t workout. Nice move from a PR stand point after personally announcing the tour dates on Goggle Earth.

If October happens, the only weekends open are the 17th and the 31st. I’d take a Halloween concert!
May 17th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Auugghh! I was planning my 30th around the San Diego concert. Boo!
May 17th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
We always have a huge event in Las Vegas in October, feeling pretty bad about the concert schedule change.
May 18th, 2009 at 6:10 am
Were making plans for the Seattle concert with family. Sorry to hear it is not happening, maybe next year?
May 18th, 2009 at 7:02 am
hey, look at the $$$$ you won’t be pissing away!
May 18th, 2009 at 7:03 am
Just booked $800. worth of plane tickets Friday! Have gone to Vegas for years. Bumbed for sure no refund allowed. Won’t even plan 4 next year. We are going to Cozumel.
May 18th, 2009 at 7:32 am
The dates were yanked off margaritaville.com a few weeks ago without any explanation.
It’s really unfortunate that Jimmy and his management team don’t feel that it’s important to keep the promise they made by posting the dates. Many folks made travel plans, and many of them are going to have to take some kind of loss to reschedule/rebook to go other places (unless they want a vacation without a concert). To do this without any kind of explanation just makes it worse — kind of like kicking sand in the eyes of those folks on whom you built your empire.
If Jimmy doesn’t feel it’s important to keep his word, so be it. I find it hard to believe that the Dolphins have such strong negotiating power that they couldn’t hold a concert until after the already announced dates were played. I, for one, will probably forego buying Landshark in the future. Apparently I’m not needed as a consumer.

Dear Mr. Buffett,
Thank you for leaving your loyal fans wondering whats going on. You do remember your fans dont you? We are(or in my case now were) the people who faithfully kept your pockets lined for years. Yes we have bought the overpriced concert tickets, merchandise etc. I would have no problem with the shows being cancelled with at least something from you or your people explaining. I hope every fan who feels like a lot of us do simply do what youve done to us and thats turn our backs on you and your loack of consideration for the people who made you what you are(were). Thanks for nothing.
Sincerly
A former fan

People — get over it…they have always said these dates are preliminary and they weren’t even set in stone….if you jumped the gun…it’s your own fault..not Jimmy’s. Having been a faithful fan for years and years…you know to NEVER make plans until the show is set in stone!
The dates shown below were on the preliminary list of tour dates (subject to change)
OCTOBER
10.15.09 - Chula Vista, CA - Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre (on sale TBA)
10.17.09 - Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand Garden Arena (on sale TBA)
10.21.09 - Seattle, WA - Key Arena At Seattle Center (on sale TBA)
10.24.09 - Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand Garden Arena (on sale TBA)
——————————————————————————–
NOVEMBER
11.19.09 - Toronto, Ontario - Air Canada Centre (on sale TBA)
11.21.09 - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena (on sale TBA)
11.24.09 - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden (on sale TBA)

Well I would say when the Artist himself announces his own tour dates that to me would be an indication those dates are set. Jimmy announced the dates feb 2 from KW and never at the end said dates subject to change or better yet “dates subject to me deciding to screw over the Parrotheads by prostituting myself to the Dolphins”
May 18th, 2009 at 9:29 am
Wait a minute Tiff- I’m as loyal as they get and will always give Jimmy the benefit of the doubt- but that tag line stating that those tour dates now somehow were “subject to change” was added about a week ago. These dates were confirmed dated back in February and people made plans accordingly. I’ve done the Vegas drill for 10 yrs now- he’s never done this to his fans before. I’m sorry- but an explanation is in order.
May 18th, 2009 at 10:05 am
Sorry Tiff….those dates were released by Jimmy’s team to Pollstar. Pollstar doesn’t put dates up under rumor — only officially listed dates. I’m one of those folks who made travel plans (and asked other folks to do the same) relying upon the truthfulness of what Jimmy’s team was saying.
May 18th, 2009 at 1:51 pm
I am very disappointed with the cancellation of the dates in October, and they were published back in February and they were not stated as preliminary dates. I too plan on a October concert in Vegas been doing that for years. I cannot believe that he would just drop those dates to perform in Florida again he just did a performance there a few weeks ago he only has two dates scheduled in September he do can Miami then. This is really a big let down.
May 18th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
Sorry for those of you who will be out some money…that does stink. I can only say you should never make non-runfundable plans until the dates and ticket sale dates are set in stone…I know for a fact they never were. They have said “On Sale TBA” all along which always means it’s not a done deal. I know because this happened to me once and he changed venues.
I still believe in Jimmy and what he is doing. I hope you all will again someday too! FINZ UP!!
May 18th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Everyone just lighten up.
Tickets DID NOT go on sale for these shows. If tickets were sold and then Jimmy pulled this, then you have a very good reason to be upset. I know I would be upset and p***-off. I was planning on going to one of the Vegas shows this October for my 40th Bday. I was waiting for the Tickets to go on sale before I made plans.
Three words people……
Use Common Sense!!!!!!
May 18th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Look- it’s understood- this is a Jimmy Buffett FAN site. And none of us would even be here if we weren’t fans. And yes- it’s important to stand up for Jimmy and sing his praises and his songs and buy all his stuff and support the cause. We’ve done it for years- and it will probably go on and on.
But it’s also important to call spade a spade. Hey,I’m done…let’s sit back and wait to hear what Buffett Headquarters has to say about all this. I think we’ll all survive just fine. Come on Bubba- we wanna believe!!
May 18th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
You think JB really cares what you guys want or think.
Look, he is involved with changing the name of a venue.
Something he always criticized.
I know, this is a sports venue not a music venue.
SAME THING PEOPLE.
It is all about the bucks folks.
JB has forgotten where he came from and could care less if you like it or not.
Truth hurts.
May 18th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
Is he ever planning on bringing the tour down to So Florida?
May 18th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
I’m a big fan like so many others, and listening to Jimmy’s music has helped me through many long winter days. My show wasn’t one that was canceled, but after how (or why) the other shows were canceled, I’m starting to feel like Jimmy is starting to lose interest in music and his fans. I hope I’m wrong, and by all means Jimmy should explore any good business opportunity when it arises, but not at the cost of alienating fans that made him a household name. I know people who went to Jimmy’s concerts when they didn’t have a job, just because they needed to feel good about life; even if it was for one evening. Thanks Jimmy, I still love ya and I’m looking forward to our show…Fins Up!!!
May 19th, 2009 at 1:01 am
This is extremely dissapointing. If Jimmy canceled a handful of shows just to play at Landshark I believe he made a poor business decision. The exposure he gets from having Landshark for sale at his concerts is immeasurable.
This Landshark Stadium deal is a strange move, especially considering it wont even be Landshark Stadium when the the Super Bowl is there.
Jimmy certainly knows more about business than I do, but I think I might have a better idea of what his fans want.
I sure hope Jimmy does right by his fans here….
May 19th, 2009 at 6:55 am
I guess Jimmy decided to take his ball and stay home! Yes, defenders of everything he does, he does have the RIGHT to do what he wants to do and hope his fans will follow. It just isn’t RIGHT for him to do it months after the fact without any disclaimers, etc. It cost real people real money…and he is savvy enough to know people travel for his shows.
It isn’t like it takes him months to set dates for the tour–he could have announced the fall dates later (I believe he has done that before) OR he could have scheduled so that he had a date open for this event if it worked out.
Either way, he made a business decision. We just don’t have to like it or blindly spend money on his business. That doesn’t mean we don’t like his music…some people just don’t like it being all business and less music…
May 19th, 2009 at 9:43 am
I am bummed… My dad’s 60th bday is on 10/24- so when we saw the show date in Vegas on his actual bday- we booked travel and everything for a surprise getaway. Now there is no Buffett show… Boo!
I know its all “subject to change” and all that jazz- as I read the comments above, but its still a pretty big bummer since we have all been looking forward to this for quite some time and are all booked for our big trip, only to have one of our most favorite parts of it suddenly disappear
We will get over it and there are other things to do in Vegas. But there are now some VERY bummed Bufett fans. If there is any way that this show goes on again- we would be first in line for tickets!
May 19th, 2009 at 11:21 am
So disappointed. This was going to be my first concert. Usually am a procrastinator, but this time actually jumped on the airfare. Should have been more cautious with the TBA listing. Will know better next time. Definitely need a Boat Drink now!
May 19th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
Typical East Coast Bias.
May 19th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Jumping the gun on TBA. Only yourself to blame. Over the years I have heard and seen lots of rumors and TBA go by the way side. Only when it is set in stone. Don’t get pissed at Jimmy, he didn’t put a gun to anyone’s head to buy air line tickets on an unconfirmed concert.
May 19th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
give your ticket money to the homeless!
May 19th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Once again the lemings are heading over the cliff.
God, it’s just a concert.
To those who bought, non-refundable airfare without even having concert tickets, what the hell were you thinking?
All of you, just take a deep breath. Ahhhh. It is just a concert for chirst sake!
May 19th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
parrotheadmike Says:
The exposure he gets from having Landshark for sale at his concerts is immeasurable.
Yeah. What’s the cost of that at the concert? $8 a bottle.
That’s sure good will for ya.
Butt then the true believers continue to drink that parrotpizz
May 19th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
All 3 of the venues could easily accommadate this leg of the tour from mid to late September based on what is listed so far for each them looking on Pollstar. Four dates at three venues are not that hard to reschedule and I’m sure the shed owners would love it if he reschedules as this show is usually a big win for them too (beer sales). So it all depends on his schedule (and probably his kids school too) if he chooses to reschedule, but the dates look to be available.
May 19th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Venues create the beer price not the artist.
May 19th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Yup… that was my point when I said the shed owners referring to the venue operators win too.
May 20th, 2009 at 3:04 am
Everyone is assuming this rumor is set in stone. Lets try to think positively about what we want. Shows in October. Instead of anger about a rumor that mgiht not even be true. I bet some of the shows will still happen. How long does it take to fly to Florida…a month? Plus, his kids go to school in California! I love being a parrotthead because everyone is upbeat and positive. What is all this negativity about? Deep breaths,… ok?
May 20th, 2009 at 6:50 am
I’ve gone to the Vegas gig the last 8 years. Every year I wait until the tickets go on sale to get my airfare & hotel. Every year the prices go up the day the tickets go on sale. This year, I decided to save some money. Lesson learned : (
May 20th, 2009 at 1:01 pm
Let’s face it, it was wrong to pull the dates–I’m sure plenty of people like myself have booked, flights and rooms for Vegas based on the information given. It was also on the MGM website–just like every other year tickets go on sale at a future date after the tour schedule is announced. This may all be for not, because he still may appear in Vegas on the original dates announce–let’s just hope.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
What are you going to do when JB hangs up his Fins?
It’s gonna happen one day. Deep in your heart you know it will.
May 20th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
OR WHEN HE DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
May 20th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Jimmy gets $1million per show.
he plays 28 songs per show.
thats $35,000 he gets per song.
now, who are the “phools” in this arena?
May 21st, 2009 at 10:18 am
I have been going to see Jimmy since 1976. I have seen so many concerts since then that I can not count them. I have also seen so many so called Parrotheads jumped on board this Parrothead train that would not even of mentioned Jimmys name back in the 80’s. It is now cool to a Buffet Fan, the true fans have to pay the price. Ebay and tickets scalpers have made it impossible for the average guy to see Jimmy except for lawn seats. I can remember paying $25 for front row seats at one time. now your lucky if you can find the same ticket for under $500. The demand to see Jimmy is what has caused the problem not Jimmy. Jimmy hasn’t sold out. He is doing what he has to do to to stay in the buisness. Jimmy and his partners have built a very strong buisness and we can not blame him for that.
Jimmy’s music has got me through many many bad times and for that I am grateful. He has brought so much joy and good times that the fact that I can’t see him as much as I may want to really is not a problem. Remember what Jimmy says Margaritaville is any where you want it to be

So……….Why can’t he do the West Coast dates AND the stadium show(s) in the same month? I don’t get it. There are 27 other days in October.
May 22nd, 2009 at 11:19 am
It’s interesting that the two main ticket scalpers Tickets Now (owned by Ticketbastard) and Stub Hub still list the Seattle show on Oct. 21st as well as the Vegas and San Diego (Chula Vista) shows. Stub hub is even selling tickets for up to $1155 each for AA seats to the Seattle show! Do they know something we don’t or is this a sorry scam?
May 22nd, 2009 at 1:27 pm
I was at the Concord concert (lawn Seats) and I have to tell you, the true Parrot Heads were up there. These folks were mostly 50’s to 60’s age group with there kids and grand kids. Most can not afford seats. You look in the seats most were Late 20’s s to 30’s. Most not even born when Jimmy started. I’m not saying they are not true fan’s but this is the group that is payings $1100.00 for front row seats. Supply and demand, the American way. If people will pay it, the scalpers will charge it. Again, no scam. If people are going to pay $1100.00 I can not fault anyone for charging it. I love Jimmy, I have even been back stage back in the day, but I will never pay $1100.00 or even $200.00 to see him. I am happy being on the lawn with the true Parrot Heads!

I have loved Jimmy Buffet for a long time….my kids grew up listening to his songs. I think it is sad that it costs so much to see him, but as it was said earlier, if people are willing to pay 1100.00 for a seat ~ that’s what they are going to sell them for. The seats we had at Verizon were not very good….next time I will buy lawn seats. Hope all can just relax and continue to enjoy his music.

Хм… По-моему, минусы значительно превосходят плюсы. Думаю, не стоит заморачиваться.
