Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at the Amway Arena in Orlando FL on Thursday night as part of the Summerzcool Tour. The last time Buffett performed in Orlando was three years ago on Feb 8th, 2007 at the same venue.
The Set List and comments from the show are now available. Some changes to the set list included “License To Chill” during the first set, “Door Number 3” during the second set, and “Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season” during the encores.
The Summerzcool Tour ends on Saturday February 27th with a show at the BankAtlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The Orlando Sentinel has a review of the show: “Jimmy Buffett does it old-school at Amway Arena”
He waxed nostalgic about the many times he played the Orlando Arena, which is scheduled to give way to the new Amway Center later this year.
“I’m gonna miss this place,” he said. “I think I’ll just buy it.”
He can afford it. At the same time, videos on vintage Buffett the screen and the singer’s stories were potent reminders that the wealth and fame are grounded in the roots of genuine troubadour.
At the end of the night, standing alone with his guitar, he recalled riding around the state in the early days with iconic Florida folksinger Gamble Rogers and talking to him about music at the Tradewinds lounge in St. Augustine. Then, he looked at the crowd:
“I’m a lucky, lucky guy,” Buffett said.

I’m 17 and have seen Jimmy now 7 times. 5 times at the Amway, once at the grand opening of Margaritiville Cafe Orlando, and most resently Feb 20th in Jacksonville. My father and I would have much rather seen him yesterday in Orlando, but his work scheldual conflicted. We have always know he much he loved playing Orlando so it was weird not seeing him there where we had seen him so many times before. When we saw him in Jacksonville we learned just why he loves Orlando. The so called fans in Jacksonville are the most uptight people ever. My father and I were actually yelled at and threatened for standing up! Of all things! It was the crazyest thing ever. Totally not real pharotheads. After this happened we promised never to see him anywhere except Orlando.

Wow! What an awesome show last night. Jimmy looked great/well rested. Even my husband, who says he only goes because I want to… said that was the best show of Jimmy’s he’s been to in recent years. Now we’re really looking forward to Tampa - luckily they like to stand too!

We drove from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Margaritaville, New Orleans, to Lulu’s at Gulf Shores, onward to Margaritaville in Panama City Beach, through Orlando, then to Margaritaville in Key West and finally back to Orlando to first see Ilo Ferreira and Nadirah and Tina on the Porch of Indecision at Universal Margaritaville. Wednesday night we saw Ilo with the entire Coral Reefer band, featuring many of them taking the lead in the show that was awesome to say the least. Thursday night topped it all off in a way that was out of this world. The tail-gate party and the friendly people were only topped by the Fantastic performance by Jimmy and the crew. The only other time we saw them was at the Shell in Waikiki in October 2007. What was great then was 10 times better in Orlando. I even have a photo of me with Nadirah and Tina while on the Porch of Indecision. Even with the”cool” weather the Jimmy “Summerzcool” experience with all we saw and heard has been fantastic. Oh yes, thanks to Erin at Margaritaville right here in Orlando for being so nice to us.
