Musician Jimmy Buffet performs his song, “Cheeseburger in Paradise” for members of Joint Task Force Haiti at the U.S. Embassy as Lt. Cmdr. Jennifer Hornsby-Myers and Cmdr. Dana Hall, both from the U.S. Public Health Service sing along.

March 8th, 2010 at 11:16 pm
Don`t want to rain on your parade but Jimmy and his rich friends like Warren Buffett and others could do a whole lot more. What`s so sad is Jimmy who I think is a Basically a Good Guy seems to benefit from this kind of thing.Looks Good that a Multi Millionaire singer Flys his Sea Plane to Haiti with supplies.Come on Jimmy You can do more.Travolta Fly`s his Boing 707 to Haiti fully stocked.Jimmy why not open up a Margaritaville Cafe,Bar in Porte Au Prince Hiring Locals and reinvesting the profits into Haiti. You could be there for the Grand Opening doing a Concert and draw tons of Parrotheads to this concert spending money for the Rebirth Of Haiti.Your Fans follow you everywhere.Your the Pied Pipper Jimmy.
March 8th, 2010 at 11:55 pm
How much money do you and Jane and your 3 kids need? You got a Mansion in Palm Beach another in Long Island a 11 Million Dollar Condo in NY Manhatten property in Orlando and France and St Barts and God knows where else.Plus Millions in Cash and Stocks.Jimmy I bet that if you tell your Parrothead Fans that your going to invest millions of dollars of your own money into Haiti and Chile and to Poor American Families who have lost their jobs and health care thanks to the recession I bet your fans will match your generosity Dollar For Dollar.Jimmy people like You and Warren Can make a Difference by example. We Will Follow You,Your Devoted Parrothead Fans
March 9th, 2010 at 9:22 am
They already do!!! Everyone who attends one of his concerts, overpays 2-3-4 times what a normal ticket SHOULD cost.

Lindsay I like what you’re saying, and I agree that it would be nice to see Haiti became the Caribbean’s tourist hot spot. But I just believe it will ever happen until Haiti’s government becomes less corrupt. I fear all the money that has been sent their way will never reach the people who it was intended for. If they ever do get their act together, I know my family will visit, I was in the Dominican Republic a few years back, and it is a beautiful island.
March 9th, 2010 at 3:07 pm
It’s interesting, the guy goes over there to do some good and yet people still feel the need to complain and call him out for his kindness? Lindsay, when you get a plane and fly supplies over to Haiti you will be allowed to make any comparisons or call people out. Until then keep your throwing bricks to yourself and be thankful you aren’t in need of any tents or fresh water. Bubba, keep on keeping on and thank you for showing there are good people in the world who give. Anyone else know a celebrity using their own plane to fly supplies in or take time to visit that devastated island? Not many. It’s not Jimmy’s job to make his fans follow him into Haiti to do anything. He’s doing what he feels is right on his own dime. I think that is mighty grand of him, yet you criticize. Get a life or just go away. Take your anger and negativity with you. It doesn’t belong in Margaritaville baby.

Im seeing him in august 10th
March 10th, 2010 at 12:30 am
Thanks Lebowski…I totally agree with you. I just don’t understand why people get so upset at everything he does. I guess next time he should just go to the beach and surf…and then you all could complain that he doesn’t do anything to help others in need. It looks to me like he doesn’t spend all of our money foolishly….just most of it…and since it’s his money….he can do what he wants with it.

Lindsay, please pick up your parting gift as you leave
March 10th, 2010 at 8:36 am
Lindsay, are you poor?
March 10th, 2010 at 9:36 am
How are things coming along in New Orleans’ 9th Ward? Or is that just a phrase for a song lyric.
March 10th, 2010 at 9:51 am
Jimmy does great at bringing attention and help to many, many places and causes. Only quesion for me is where are the enlisted members of the service? It is always officers and senior military staff that get pictured. Being a former member of the military, this was always the way these things always worked.
March 10th, 2010 at 10:24 am
I’ve said it before; he’s an opportunist. That’s OK. Everyone seems to be caught up in all of the present issues. J.B. is simply a product of what we, his fans, made him. I actually support all of the efforts that he gets himself involved in. When I complain, it’s an isolated issue; ticket prices. Everyone can carry on ’til the cows come home, but no one is going to tell me that he isn’t aware of what is going on, with these corrupt ticket outlets. At every free opportunity, we go to City Walk, drive down to Key West, and we’ll surely go to Hollywood Beach when it opens. We love Margaritaville! J.B. is great, and we can’t fault him, just because he’s rich. We made him rich. He, however, made all of us richer in our lifestyles and outlooks of dreams beyond the desk and office.

First of all, I agree with Lebowski…get counseling Lindsay…and spell check.
How in the world do you know what Jimmy or Warren or anyone else has done to help the people of Haiti? You don’t.
The fact that people say “We made Jimmy rich” is absolutely ridiculous. Jimmy made Jimmy rich with his wise business decisions. That is the point of being in business, is it not? You have the choice of whether or not you want to go to his concerts and purchase his merchandise. Obviously, there are millions of fans who choose to support him as I do.
Thank you, Jimmy, for helping Haiti and for doing so many countless charitable deeds that go unnoticed and unmentioned. Thank you for spreading a little love in the world.
March 11th, 2010 at 12:19 am
I love Parrotheads!! For those of you going to the Tampa show in April…see you there!!!
March 11th, 2010 at 4:06 pm
DO YOU PEOPLE REALLY THINK THAT JB READS THIS CRAP? “Thank you Jimmy?” Come on. And, as far as a smart businessman, you’re damned right. He’s a brilliant businessman. We buy a lot of his merchandise. We’ve gone to several concerts, so far. Like I said in my last comment, we travel quite often to go to Margaritavilles, so don’t think for a second, that I drank the koolaid, and am delirious over his business savvy. Read some of his books, and you’ll see for yourself, that he credits the fans for his success, over and over. I personally think that it’s great, all of the contributions that he’s made through the years. You all are getting too wrapped up and involved, as is apparent by all of your bickering. Go make some margaritas, relax, and enjoy life.

Fintastic Advice Jeff Cross
March 12th, 2010 at 12:21 am
Lindsay… You really need to join buffettnews.com! Your criticism of Jimmy will fit right in, and be very much welcomed!
That is unless… you already are a BN’r????
March 12th, 2010 at 1:50 am
Welcomed By Who Johnny #2?Look I really Like Jimmy and Think Basicly he`s a Good Guy.All I want to know is since Jimmy has so much wealth and influence both here with his fans and amongst his peers, the Warren Buffett`s and such and has the ability to make a difference for the Global Good of All Why Doesn`t He?Does The World Really Need Margaritaville Eye Wear and Margaritavilles on Hollywood Beach?
March 12th, 2010 at 1:33 pm
Lindsay, With the economy gone to hell, unemployment at an all time high, just an overall unsecure feeling throughout the country, we need all of the Margaritavilles that we can find!!! It’s a great outlet to temporarily forget all of nonsense that we put up with on a daily basis. By the way, I understand what you’re saying.
March 12th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
Oh, I almost forgot…my backyard could possibly qualify as a Margaritavile. Margaritaville, Palm Harbor; kind of has a ring to it!!
March 12th, 2010 at 8:31 pm
Why’s everyone always gotta hate on somebody? Jimmy’s a genuinely good guy, who does way more for folks than most ever will, yet still catches crap. Get over yourself you self-righteous hypocrites.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:24 pm
Jeff I hear You and I agree with everything you say.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:41 am
Lindsay, is jeff Cross your alter ego??
And no, I do NOT think that Jimmy reads this crap but I know that some of his people do…
Perhaps once in awhile, something positive will get back to him…rather than all this ridiculous stuff that Lindsay is saying.

I live in boston and own a demolition business. I’m always dirty and can hardly pay my bills. Jimmy sings songs makes people happy with his music and has millions of dollars. which job would you rather have? come to think of it when i come back from my dusty job site i’m going to get some tequila and crank up my liscense to chill CD. Soceity needs jimmy for escapism from reality. When i do drop dead at least they can say he enjoyed his jimmy tunes. By the way I was on the boston common in 1981 when jimmy couldnt sell four thousand seats. It wasnt always an easy sell. He did earn it he just had a good time along the way and everybody that badmouths what he does with his cash is just jealous. I’m sure he donates plenty that we dont even hear about .
March 13th, 2010 at 11:24 am
Your probably right bobbygags. What do I know anyway?
March 13th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
I regularly rely on Jimmy to help me escape reality… Just this past week, I had to administer FCAT to my 3rd graders. I kept a copy of “The Jolly Mon” on my desk (along with a Milky Way bar) for comfort. It was the next best thing to a margarita and a cd. Definitely looking forward to Tampa!
March 19th, 2010 at 11:36 am
It’s not Jimmy’s place or responsibility to support Haiti or anywhere or anyone else for that matter! Jimmy and his family should enjoy all the $’s as they may! Looking forward to “Under The Big Top”. I have already contributed to Jimmy’s wealth with four tickets to the Atlanta Show, and will be attending other shows as well this year.
March 20th, 2010 at 12:13 am
Geez! Think we lost focus here! From my observations, I would have to say all the guy was doing was providing a brief escape and bringing some cheer to some people who are serving our country and helping Haiti. I can’t imagine their job there is very pleasant.
