May 05

The Jamaica Observer has an article: “It’s Jimmy, not Warren Buffett

THE Airports Authority of Jamaica yesterday said singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, and not Warren Buffett, as it had announced Monday, will be the celebrity visiting Jamaica on Friday.

Buffett, of Margaritaville fame, will be here on the special invitation of Chris Blackwell of Island Outpost and will be the first to land in his private jet on the upgraded Boscobel Aerodrome in St Mary, the Airports Authority said.

The facility will be commissioned later this month as the island’s third international airport.

Buffett has built a small financial empire in Key West, Florida, written several best-selling books, and is a leading environmentalist.

Gee, Nashville’s under water; New Orleans is at the edge of a slick. And Jimmy’s off saving the environment in his private jet. Maybe he could fly some tents back to the USA and help out those two places where his stores are. Bet Chesney will lead a concert to rebuild the city.

Don`t Bet on it Ricky it would be great if Jimmy would help and ask his rich friends like Warren Buffett and others in Palm Beach and Long Island but don`t hold your breath

President Obama added: “BP is responsible for this leak. BP will be paying the bill.”

And exactly what are you two whiners doing to help either of those situations?
You have no idea what Jimmy or Kenny or anyone else with money is doing in those cities. Some people do things without seeking publicity. Guess you forgot Jimmy paid every single employee in New Orleans during the time the store was closed from Katrina. Perhaps you ought to volunteer locally and do something productive instead of whine that the rich people aren’t helping. How pathetic.

Ur rite, Rusty B! Jimmy gives back thru so many charities, but doesn’t use that as PR to put himself in the spotlight for promoting his career. Any REAL parrothead knows that ab him bc despite his fame & fortune he considers himself a regular guy who happens to have a job that makes him famous. I know he is still helping in NOLA bc I attended a fundraiser there that he was involved in, Nov ‘08. With such deep connection to Nashville, Im sure JB is helping out there already. Us true PARROTHEADS also give back & say thanks for all the charities u support Jimmy! U always rem where u came from!

  8. 8. BuffHead Says:

    Well spoken Rusty & Lori!
