This is awesome news. I really hope that this will stop some folks from whining that Jimmy has not done enough to help. Then again, it is impossible to please everyone.

Please post up when the tickets will be available. Will it be first come, first served at the gate or will we all need to secure some type of actual ticket? I would assume the latter to avoid mass hysteria at the venue.

We’ve got our room booked. THANKS AGAIN JIMMY.

“All of those tourists covered with oil” takes on a new meaning…

It’s a 9 hour drive for me from southwest Florida, but it’s in support of our beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Would die to see Buffett, Chesney, and ZBB on the beach. Will be unforgettable. See you there!

Bet none of the big talking losers here will be there.

  11. 11. Mark Walters Says:

I am going to try to get some tickets online. I will be in PCB that week

  12. 12. Tammy Fikes Says:

Well people you can purchase the tickets on e-bay for $499. set of 4. no one I know locally has been able to get tickets and we were all trying at 10:00 am. I heard the concert sold out in 2 minutes. Wow we love you Jimmy and are excited to see the sell out. Too bad some hacker got all of the tickets. I am cleaning the beaches so maybe our group will be close enough to hear your beautiful voice. I’m on the night shift and if I was able to get tickets I would have taken a well deserved nite off.

  13. 13. Susan Mitchell Says:

I too was online at 10 am for tickets. Thought this a wonderful oppurtunity to take my 10 year old grandson to see what this “oil thing” is all about! I see where people in NY are selling tickets for a FREE concert! As a native Alabamian am I to believe “yankees” give a rats a** about our beautiful gulf coast. As momma always says….”there’s a special place in h*** for people like that!” Shame on you greedy people!!!!

  14. 14. Lori Brabton Says:

Whole family on internet and phone and didn’t get a ticket, there are 21 of us, from the Gulf Coast! But thank you anyway Jimmy Buffet for the concert, I will listen for it in the breeze and close my eyes and pretend I am there, in Margaritteville!

  15. 15. Raymond Says:

It’s a dam shame that he he is offering a free concert on the gulf coast and yet very few people from around here are even able to go. Have you took a look at ebay, the free tickets are selling upwards of 500.00 and there is peoples who have 8 even though the limit was suppose to be 4, also look at were these peoples are from. All they way from New York City and beyond.

  16. 16. john pfeiffer Says:

i can not go but want to buy a t shirt. when will thet be available.? its a shame all those free ticetswent so fast. i live on the gulf coast in tiki island , tx near galveston . the greedy people upnorth have no idea how bad bp has screwed up the lives of people living on the gulf.

  17. 17. Lucy Says:

I think its a shame how people got the tickets and are turning around and selling them for their own benefit when Jimmy wanted to do a good thing. I wonder what he thinks about all that. Someone should fill him in and also ticketmaster

  18. 18. Dane Says:

My entire office tried to secure tickets at 10 AM sharp online through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster had us on hold for about 5 minutes and then poof, sold out. This is 16 people in Pensacola without tickets who tried at 10 AM. I find it hard to believe that there was not a hacker or something at work here. None of my friends received tickets either. . .Please investigate. Thanks so much!

  19. 19. moondog Says:

What Jimmy and E-Bay should do is have those S.O.B.’s who resell these tickets for personal gain is the amount times two to any organization who is trying to restore the Gulf!

  20. 20. Carla Says:

Not a benefit concert. A free concert to promote tourism awareness. People … get a clue.

  21. 21. Katie B. Says:

Okay people, just a few things. #1: tickets are NOT available on Ebay or Craigslist. They were removed almost immediately, and no one thus far has benefitted from those “tickets” they had to sell. #2: Scalpers did NOT “grab up” all the free tickets. There was a system to how they were distributed. #3: Some of us who live in the area were able to get tickets. The official number was supposedly 1 in 6 people who tried got tickets in the Gulf Coast area. Appx. 5000 tickets were available on Ticketmaster.com to people who had IP addresses registered within 50 miles of Gulf Shores. That includes Pensacola. The others were available to people outside the 50 mile radius, because this is a BENEFIT concert to raise awareness. What better way to benefit the Gulf Coast than to bring in people from Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana who live close enough to attend, but who will still need a hotel room for the night? Who will eat in the area, and buy gas and other things here?? Yes, it’s a shame that you didn’t get tickets. However, what’s stopping you from getting a room in a hotel close by and listening anyway? There are plenty. Stop whining.

  22. 22. Jennifer Says:

Hi Katie. Thanks for the information you shared. I personally think that this system was completely unfair. Stop whining, you say. Gee…my family hasn’t had a full paycheck in almost 4 weeks, thanks to this oil spill. We have been forced to cancel our summer vacation plans just so we could continue to keep food on the table for our children. BP’s claims process is a joke. Now, a relief concert comes to town, and out-of-towners who aren’t even financially suffering get to take a vacation on our beaches. How fair is that? Don’t tell me to stop whining until you have walked in my shoes. Come look my children in the face and tell them that they can’t have their vacation, and for that fact, can’t even have new school clothes this year because of this oil spill. So we may bring in tourists for a weekend….big deal. Do you really think they are going to continue visiting once this concert weekend is over? Get a grip. Again…walk a mile in my shoes before you condem.

  23. 23. Kelli H Says:

I don’t understand that if it’s free then why they just didn’t admit the first 35,000 that showed up. Why do you have to have a ticket to get in if it is free? We are vacationing in Gulf Shores the week of the concert and were excited to hear of it but now I am disappointed. If the concert was suppose to help show support and encourage people to visit then why do they not just do the show on the beach?

  24. 24. Barbara Says:

My daughter and I are from Arkansas and we come to Gulf Shores, Destin and that area every year. I just got back from Destin several weeks ago. I have paid big bucks and much expense to see Jimmy in different areas of the country because he doesn’t come to our area. We had 3 computers going and we were lucky to get 2 tickets. Yes, we are just coming for the week end but we are going to spend about $2000.00 for this free concert and you can bet we will be back next year to the area. Sorry for everyone’s misfortune!!!

  25. 25. Katie B. Says:

Thank you for making my point, Barbara. And Jennifer, I want you to understand that I’m not condemning or making light of the people who are suffering from the effects of the oil spill. However, I really don’t think that a free Jimmy Buffett concert was magically going to make up for you not taking your vacation, or for that matter, put clothes on your kids’ backs or food on your table. You do realize that there are people who don’t get a vacation every year, right? And kids who (like myself growing up) wear the same school clothes from year to year, instead of buying new every August. This was not intended to “make up” for what you’ve lost as a result of the oil spill. I do understand that you’re disappointed, but the entire point was to bring other people here so that they could see that there are still lots of things to do on the Gulf Coast. I guarantee that some of them will continue visiting - just like Barbara. The concert is not a fix-all, but I do believe it will help.

  26. 26. amy a Says:

Well yeah we are whining cause we live here and wanted to go. Yeah u can book a room nearby but they want a 3 night min. stay at $200 and up a night. Been checking. Don’t judge others. Thanks for Jimmy and Kenny and others for trying to do a wonderful thing! Does anyone know if u can get close enough by boat. Not sure of that area.

  27. 27. I.Averett Says:

As soon as Jimmy Buffett and friends announced a “free concert” I immediately booked a room for 6.Didn’t know you had to have tickets at the time We are doing exactly what Buffett wanted…… come to the Gulf and spend money. We really wanted to attend “free” concert!

  28. 28. BuffettVirginNoMore Says:

Anyone have tickets available that they are unable to use due to the rescheduling of the concert? I would be very appreciative of a couple! I had 6 people in 2 time zones online and 2 @ local venues in line and still came up empty. If unsuccessful we plan to just access the “public beach” and not be inside the fence. Think the music will be audible! Thanks!

  29. 29. Courtneyyy Says:

does anyone know if kids under a certain age have to have tickets?

  30. 30. Kent Says:

So when will you be able to order tshirts from the concert on line??

  31. 31. Elmer Sojourner Says:

It depends on where the person is at. If they are experiencing really bad symptoms and a tremendous amount of anxiety you probably want to try medication in conjunction with therapy. The meds will take the edge off and you will be better able to work through the underlying issues. Meds alone will not help much, because you have left the underlying issues unaddressed and they will get worse over time so the meds will become less effective.
