USA Today has a short interview with Jimmy Buffett: “Jimmy Buffett wraps up summer with Virginia show”

Barefoot and happy, Jimmy Buffett helped thousands of Parrotheads say so long to summer last night with the second of his two Labor Day weekend shows in Bristow, Va.

“It is the end of the season. Summer’s over!” Jimmy told me backstage, where we chatted for a few minutes before the concert.

Buffett mentioned that a highlight of the summer was his July Gulf Coast concert for 35,000 fans. “They needed a break,” he said, from the oil spill disaster. He mentioned he’s still involved with projects tied to recovery efforts and environmental education in the area. And he noted his new Margaritaville Beach Hotel in Pensacola is doing well. “Sold out for this weekend!”
