Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at the Toyota Center in Houston on Monday December 6th. It was a Private Event for American Express Cardmembers.

A review of the show from Cmptrman: I had the pleasure of attending the Buffett show in Austin, TX last night (12/4/2010). For those who were not aware, the Andy Roddick Foundation invited Jimmy to play at their annual gala to raise money for underprivileged and abused children.

Andy Roddick, John Legend, Will Kimbrough, Jimmy and the Coral Reefers took part in what turned out to be a simply amazing evening. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Jimmy prior to the show. Although I was not able to take my own photos during the meet and greet, Jimmy’s folks took a photo and promised the photo early next week. I was also fortunate enough to grab a spot in the front “row” of the ballroom where the concert took place, directly in front of Jimmy and about 2 feet from the stage.

Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance last night at the recently opened Margaritaville Cafe in Nashville.

From PHMike42: Thursday night December 2 was an interesting night at the Margaritaville Nashville. Went there for a club ‘bored’ meeting and “got lucky”. Jimmy made a surprise appearance at a show that Mac McAnally and Will Kimbrough were doing.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will be playing two shows at the Sydney Opera House, Sunday January 23rd and Monday January 24th. Tickets go on sale on Friday December 17th at 9:00 am.

Jimmy made the announcement on the Today show in Australia. There will also be one other show in New Zealand in the Bay of Islands (date to be announced)

Richard Wilkins a reporter for Channel 9 Today Show in Australia leaked the news last week about Jimmy Buffett coming to Australia in January 2011. Today on the air he said Jimmy Buffett will definitely be coming to the Sydney Opera House for one show in January. He said he might be able to confirm it tomorrow.

Update 1: Richard Wilkins from the Today show in Australia said Parrot Heads stand by the news you waiting to hear on Jimmy Buffett will be announced tomorrow (December 2nd).

Update 2: Jimmy Buffett will announce the Sydney tour date at 7:40 am on Friday Australia time (3:40 PM US Eastern time on Thursday).

Richard Wilkins an entertainment reporter on the Channel 9 Today Show in Australia announced that Jimmy Buffett will be doing a concert at the Sydney Opera House in January 2011.

From WKRN: Margaritaville opens in downtown Nashville

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville opened its newest location in Nashville on Monday.

The restaurant, inspired by Buffett’s song lyrics and lifestyle, officially opened at 11 a.m. on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Broadway in downtown Nashville.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and margarita toast was held at 10 a.m. Hundreds of fans, neighbors and Parrot Heads were in attendance.

More than 200 people were hired to work at the restaurant, which seats 400 people on two floors of dining space, has three concert stages and four bars in addition to a retail boutique.

General Manager Dean Shoemaker told News 2 the restaurant blends the usual Margaritaville experience with a taste of Music City.

“We’ve tailored the menu with some of the Margaritaville favorites. Some of the items you’ll find at other venues around the country,” Shoemaker said. “We’ve added a taste of Nashville to it also. We’ve put nice juicy rib eye on the menu [and] we have some great fried chicken.”

An array of local and national musicians will join Allen Toussaint in a special Dec. 5 concert to help New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness (NOAAHH) celebrate its 25th Anniversary of service to the community.

The headliner-filled event, “Back Stage 2010,” will be held at Generations Hall at 310 Andrew Higgins Drive from 7-10 p.m.

NOAAHH Co-Founder Allen Toussaint will offer a special performance and welcome a host of talented musicians, many of whom are past performers from 25 years of NOAAHH’s concerts. Featured will be Dr. John, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Bartholomew, Jon Cleary, Irma Thomas, Little Freddie King, Deacon John and The Ivories and more.

A special Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to a New Orleans legend and long-time NOAAHH supporter, who has performed locally, nationally and internationally for decades.

Tickets can be purchased online at NOAAHH.org. VIP tickets are $150 and will include second balcony viewing area and served hors d’oeuvres. General Admission tickets are $100. Students with valid student IDs can purchase tickets at the door for $50. The event is black tie optional. All ticket holders will enjoy an open bar and an outstanding selection of New Orleans dishes provided by Kajun Kettle and Southern Hospitality Catering who will be joined with local chefs.
