The Las Vegas Margaritaville at the Flamingo will be expanding to include its very own branded casino, which will be located near the restaurant in the former Steakhouse 46 location. The casino is scheduled to open in August 2011 (thanks to KruzinParrots and ph4ever for passing that along to us)
On Sunday Lance Armstrong sent out tweet on Twitter saying that he was at Baz Bar on St. Barth’s and Jimmy Buffett preformed an impromptu gig. Jimmy was in St Barth’s for the annual Bucket Regatta.

Using the pay-per-view online concert platform StageIt, leisure music legend Jimmy Buffett gave a virtual performance at South by Southwest in Austin this weekend. It was the singer’s first performance since a January appearance in Sydney, Australia, where he was hospitalized after falling off the stage.
Buffett played a three-song set from his St. Bart’s home at the StageIt event, which was held in celebration of the site’s coming out of beta mode.
Billboard recently featured StageIt as a new online broadcasting platform with which artists can interact directly with fans and earn money through a micropayment and “tip jar” system. The site has also featured performances by artists such as Debbie Gibson, the Plain White T’s, and even Uncharted artist Tyler Ward.

Seven weeks after he fell off a stage in Sydney, Australia, singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett surprised guests at a Florida Keys wedding reception late Saturday evening with three songs during an impromptu concert.
Buffett walked barefooted onto the small stage at the private Sugarloaf Key home of dentist Fred Troxel, who a few hours earlier had exchanged nuptials with Key Wester Rita Brown. He then belted out Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” and the Rolling Stones classic “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” For his finale, Buffett sang his own “Margaritaville,” with some changes in lyrics to cater to the occasion.
Buffett showed no signs of effects from the sudden five-foot fall he took when finishing up a Jan. 26 concert in Australia. He was hospitalized for a brief period before being released Jan. 27, but had to cancel a scheduled concert in New Zealand to recover from injuries.
He mentioned the tumble to the audience of about 300 wedding guests, saying it was the first time he had performed before any group since the incident.

Stampede-goers dreaming of wasting away in Margaritaville may have to stick to Caesars and suds for now.
The Jimmy Buffett restaurant -touted as the marquee attraction in a major expansion slated for Stampede grounds -is facing new hurdles as the company behind the Canadian arm of the chain comes under new ownership.
A Toronto-based company in the process of purchasing Margaritaville Canada will be evaluating the Calgary project once the transaction is complete, said its head, Dragan Matovic.
“We are going to be speaking with the various developers there and the folks at the Stampede in the near future once this transaction is hopefully completed, and then we’ll decide accordingly.”
