From ZacBrownBand.com: World Premiere Video: “Knee Deep” Featuring Jimmy Buffett” – It’s trouble in tropical paradise for Flody Boatwood and his siblings Brody and Jody as they maneuver the perils of Careyes, Mexico. Funny… some of these villains look kind of familiar.

From TasteofCountry.com:

After spending two years in hiding, Flody Boatwood has emerged ready for more adventure. This time he’s teamed up with brother ‘Brody’ and sister ‘Jody’ Boatwood to fight a tentacled sea-monster. Yep, it’s another Zac Brown Band video.

Boatwood first appeared in the video for ‘Toes’ in 2009 and had an unfortunate run in with a group of colorful villains on ATVs. In this video for the Zac Brown Band’s ‘Knee Deep,’ the bad guys are in a rickety, motorized row boat, and the family Boatwood is fighting to protect … well, it’s not exactly clear what they’re fighting to protect. ‘Flody’ ends up kidnapped, and the fun picks up from there.

Juliette Lewis plays the roll of Jody Boatwood. Brown and Jimmy Buffett don’t play a roll in the action, aside from Buffett swimming out to retrieve a glass bottle that he assumes (correctly) may have a note in it. The note ends up not having anything to do with the mayham being created by the Boatwood clan. It’s only an invite to meet Brown and his band in Mexico. The video was shot in Careyes, Mexico.

The Post-Gazette has a review of Tuesday night’s show at the First Niagara Pavilion: “Buffett sails into summer with sea of Parrotheads

Before a sea of beachballs sailing off the fins of thousands of overserved Parrotheads, Jimmy Buffett christened the summer season Tuesday night at First Niagara Pavilion.

The vibrant Hawaiian shirts, flowery leis and hula skirts typical of concert-goers at a Jimmy Buffett concert was quite apropos to the first official calendar day of summer.

“I think it’s time to celebrate,” the son of a sailor shouted before he launched into a two-hour set with “The Wino and I Know.” He followed immediately with the radio-friendly “Brown Eyed Girl,” which has typically fallen deeper into the set list on the Welcome to Fin Land 2011 Tour but was called up for the occasion.

No one seemed to mind the thick forks of lightning that began striking the purple summer sky as Mr. Buffett returned to the stage, encoring with an acoustic “Stories You Could Tell,” dedicated to Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band, who died Saturday.

The setlist from the show is available here.

From KTBS.com: “Bossier City Council Approves Negotiation For New Casino

The Bossier City Council on Wednesday gave the mayor’s administration clearance to finalize the sale of city land to a Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville-themed casino.

The casino would be built on what used to be the city dump, located just north of Louisiana Boardwalk — if state regulatory agencies approve it and Bossier Parish voters agree to an expansion of gambling in Bossier. That election is tentatively scheduled for November.

Developers of the proposed casino, who want to relocate a casino license now held in Lake Charles, said they want to build a Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville casino and hotel. The complex, which would cost $170 million, would include a 400-room hotel and Margaritaville restaurant. It would include parking for 1,500 vehicles and an entertainment facility for concerts.

From ABC 7 in Chicago: “Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville opens at Navy Pier

”Parrot Heads” flocked to Navy Pier Monday to check out Jimmy Buffett’s newest Margaritaville Bar and Grill. A ribbon was cut Monday morning to celebrate the restaurant’s grand opening. Some diehard Buffett fans, often called “parrot heads,” were invited to the ceremony. Afterwards, the very first guests were seated.

From CountryMusicChicago.com “Cheeseburgers in Pieradise

“I couldn’t be more excited about Margaritaville arriving on the shores of Lake Michigan,” said Jimmy Buffett. “From my earliest days in the city playing the Quiet Knight on Belmont, to the pinnacle of live performances singing in front of the ivy wall at Wrigley Field, I have had a long and wonderful history and affection for the people, the music, the art and the food of the Windy City. I have always thought Chicago as a beach town, a pretty big one, but still a beach town. I am happy to call Navy Pier home to Margaritaville. Fins Up Chicago.”

Some reviews of Saturday’s show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield MA (Boston) are now available:

The Boston Globe: “Buffett and followers still at home in Margaritaville

Buffett isn’t one to rock the boat, drawing his repertoire mainly from his run of albums released between 1973 and 1983, when he crafted the Margaritaville esthetic that blossomed into songs about fins, cheeseburgers, volcanoes, and harbors.

An arch entertainer, Buffett tapped into Bruins fever and masterfully rode that wave of team adulation all night for cheers. Opening with “The Wino and I Know,’’ Buffett took to the stage wearing a namesake shirt that used the Bruins spoked-B as the first letter in Buffett. For song two, Buffett transformed his oldie “Boat Drinks’’ with new lyrics about the Bruins’ Stanley Cup victory and celebratory parade.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band continued the “Welcome to Fin Land” tour last night at the Comcast Center in Mansfield MA (Boston).

The set list from the show is now available along with comments from those who listed to the show on Radio Margaritaville.com.

Buffett spent the day in Boston on Saturday at the parade celebrating the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. He spend all day (actually about six minutes) rewriting the lyrics for the song “Boat Drinks” (download here) to include several references to the Bruins.

The set list included five songs from the album “A White Sport Coat & A Pink Crustacean”, including “Cuban Crime Of Passion” (last played Sept 2, 2010 in Bristow, VA) and “They Don’t Dance Like Carmen No More” (last played Sept, 1, 2008 in Bristow, VA).

The Sun Chronicle has a review of last night’s show: “Buffett salutes B’s at Comcast

Jimmy Buffett leaves nothing to chance, he knows how to play the crowd and is so tuned in to his audience, especially here in New England.

So it was to no one’s surprise that Buffett shuffled onto stage Saturday night, wearing a “spoked-B” Boston Bruins’ T-shirt with the “uffett” coincidentally stitched next to the B.

A video of the NHL Stanley Cup championship parade in Boston, with Buffett wearing a Bruins “sweater” of course in the crowd – pure Buffett, that’s why everyone loves the guy.

The tour continues on Tuesday June 21st with a show at the First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA.

From Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Bar and Grill Chicago Facebook page: You’re all invited! Please join us for our ribbon cutting celebration on Monday morning at 9:30AM. We will be opening our doors immediately after…. Chicago, here we come!!

There is an article at nwitimes.com: “Parrotheads to flock to Navy Pier

Chicago’s No. 1 tourist attraction is ready to welcome the ultimate tourist-trap restaurant.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Bar & Grill drops anchor Monday at Navy Pier. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. and a toast of super-sized margaritas follows. Parrotheads, the doors open at 11.

The island-themed grill, the first Margaritaville in the state, will overlook Lake Michigan. That suits savvy rocker-entrepreneur Buffett, who has reportedly eyed Navy Pier for years.

“I have always thought of Chicago as a beach town, a pretty big one, but still a beach town,” said Buffett, 64. “I am happy to call Navy Pier home to Margaritaville. Fins up, Chicago.”
