Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band performed at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Iowa last night (he has not played in Des Moines since 1985). Some changes to the set list included “The Great Filling Station Holdup” (acoustic), “Tin Cup Chalice” (acoustic) , and “Gypsies In The Palace”.
From the Des Moines Register: “Buffett delights Parrotheads”
“Hello Des Moines — it’s only been 27 years.”
That’s how Jimmy Buffett greeted a sold-out crowd of more than 15,000 Parrotheads on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The crowd erupted as the 65-year-old “pirate” kicked off the show with the steel drum-heavy “One Particular Harbor.”
Buffett’s concert served as a sort of kickoff for summer, with Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and coconut shell bikini tops (the latter two rarely on women) clothing much of the crowd.
