Workin’ and Playin’ in Detroit

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band brought the Workin’ n Playin’ tour to the West Riverfront Park in Detroit, MI last night.

The set list from the show is now available. Buffett and the band played 26 songs including “Off To See The Lizard”, “Last Man Standing”, “Scarlet Begonias”, and “Tin Cup Chalice” for the final encore.

Jimmy Buffett played his first show at Detroit’s new West Riverfront Park, drawing a colorfully attired Parrothead crowd that appeared to number more than 18,000 for a daylong party.

Reaching well back into his catalog — as he’d do frequently throughout the night — Buffett kicked off with the piano-fueled, horn-flecked “Ragtop Day,” seaside-smooth “Off to See the Lizard” and feel-good “License to Chill,” with Landreth back onstage for a guest guitar spot.

A gray day had morphed into a perfectly lovely evening for a crowd that appeared to number more than 18,000 — what would mark the biggest gathering yet at the year-old Detroit park.
