Escape to Margaritaville Musical

Jimmy Buffett’s new musical “Escape to Margaritaville” will feature both original songs and classic tracks. It tells the story of a tropical island resort and its charming bartender-singer who falls for a beautiful, career-minded tourist.

The artwork for the promotional poster is now available.

The new musical will have its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in the San Diego area. The limited engagement will begin previews on May 16, 2017, ahead of its opening night on May 28, and will play through June 25.

The show will include an original story by co-book writers Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley, with Tony Award nominee Christopher Ashley on board to direct. The creative team also will include choreographer Kelly Devine, scenic designer Walt Spangler, costume designer Paul Tazewell, lighting designer Howell Binkley and sound designer Brian Ronan.

  1. Where else do people move around a field making pretty
patterns that they read from little “X’s” in a book while playing
intense music and never looking at the ground. How do you know instinctively when to wake up in the morning.
Hookers, hustlers, druggies, mob guys, the seriously insane, the hangers-on, and the groupies are all in orbit around your world.
