Buffett performs at Fenway Park tonight

Jimmy Buffett brings the “Son of a Son of a Sailor” tour to the home of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday August 9th. The show will be his first return to the ballpark since he played two shows there in 2004. Opening for Buffett is Peter Wolf and The Midnight Travelers and Caroline Jones.

From the Boston Herald: “Peter Wolf ready for rockin’ show at Fenway Park

Everybody wants to share the stage with Peter Wolf. Whether on the road fronting the J. Geils Band or his solo group, the Midnight Travelers, Wolf has spent the last decade sharing bills with superstars and cult heroes from Tom Petty to Bob Seger, Kid Rock to Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd to John Prine. On Thursday, Wolf adds Jimmy Buffett to that list when he opens at Fenway Park for the hardest-working, richest beach bum in the world.

“I have a lot of history with these people. I have known (Jimmy) since he started out as a folk singer,” Wolf said. “He collaborated on a lot of songs with a gentleman by the name of Will Jennings, who I have also collaborated on a lot of songs with.”

    1. than you were not there last time, yes no tail gate but a awesome show, a full Buffett set. the 2nd set opened with purple rain, and they nailed it.

  1. Peter Wolf and the J. Geils Band were the best show band ever in stage “live”! They actually have much in common with Buffett, great keyboard player, former great harmonica players (Magic Dick and Fingers Taylor)! J. Geils (RIP) was an excellent guitarist!
