Buffett sells Palm Beach Home for $6.9 Million

From the Palm Beach Post: “Jimmy Buffett, wife sell house in Palm Beach for $6.9 million

“Margaritaville” singer Jimmy Buffett and his wife, Jane, have sold one of their Palm Beach houses for $6.9 million, the price recorded Monday with the deed.

The Buffetts bought the house at 309 Garden Road on the town’s North End for just under $5 million in December 2011.

The Buffetts sold the house to Warren B. Kanders and his wife, Allison Kanders, the deed shows. The couple have a home in Greenwich, Conn., courthouse records show.

With architecture that has been described as “island contemporary,” the three-bedroom house was built in 2003 with 4,783 square feet of living space, inside and out, property records show.

The most recent sales listing for the house described it as an “ultra-chic custom-built home of exquisite architecture. Soaring ceilings and mahogany framed glass doors and windows make it always light and bright with garden and pool views from every room.”

A previous sales listing referred to the house having a “Zen-like retreat feeling” and a layout suited to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle “befitting a tropical resort.”

The property includes a guest suite above a two-car garage and comes with deeded beach access at Eden Road with additional beach access at Via Marila.
