Re: TO ALL ATTENDING THE PINE KNOB SHOW TOMORROW 7/21

It was definitely hot in the parking lot but the show was great! JB was in fine form and to hear an acoustic version of Growing Older But Not Up was nothing short of incredible. Other standout songs were School Boy Heart, Great Filing Station Hold Up, and Knee Deep. God's Own Drunk, while an interes...

Musings from Detroit

Some thoughts from the Detroit show: 1. Pine Knob (it's actually called the DTE Center but no one calls it that) is one of the best "party in the parking lot" venues but for the sake of God they need to put out some port-a-potties. Seriously, there was not one bathroom, outhouse, etc. in t...

It was great to see him and he can obviously still play. With that said, I had the binoculars trained on him and he looks like an old, old man. His legendary substance abuse problems appear to have caught up with him.

I wish him the best and I hope he gets more chances to play with the Reefers.

Probably a good idea to get in there around 7 pm or earlier or you may not have good line of sight.

I think Jimmy should do more of his own songs and limit his covers. No Woman No Cry is certainly a great song but I don't like the idea of using someone else's song as his "anthem."

Name

Soupy

I fell in love with the song Barometer Soup, especially after I read the liner notes. I like it so much, I named my boat Barometer Soup. So far, I'm the only boat with this name that I've seen anywhere.

Soup

Barometer Soup - arguably one of his greatest songs and the best boating song ever. I liked it so much I named my boat after it.

Favorite Song

Can we really name a favorite? He simply has too many good songs and it really depends on my mood. With that said, I'd list a top 5 as:

1. Barometer Soup
2. CILCIA
3. Migration
4. Everybody's Got a Cousin in Miami
5. Manana
