How do you record to MP3. The total recorder I have will not allow it. It says I need some scepial "codec"

I admit that I am not versed enough to know what that means.

Does anyone have a recomendation on an encoder to convert wav. files to MP3.

I was successfully able to record a show and have just finished breaking it up into the seperate tracks. Due to space limitations I have decided to compress the show into MP3 format, but the encoder I have s***s.

I have started the recording of the second half of the concert and am falling asleep at my desk. HOpefully everything works for another hour and a half.

D@mnit I lost the feed halfway through OPH. If some one gets a good copy can they PM so I can get a copy. I got RM back but it was in the last chorus. I would only need OPH. Have plenty of space at home but I am doing this at work. My Boss is a PH so he said it sounded cool to try.

My HD in my work comuter only has a little space though. His one speculation was that I not use the network drives.

Finally trying to record using TR. I only have about 1.4 Gigs open on my HD so I am trying it in mono to save space.
