Re: Buffett @ Pine Knob...1985....does anyone know if....

Bonnie Raitt opened for Jimmy two nights in a row on the Somewhere Over China tour at Pine Knob. From what I can recall she did the summer tour. She was promoting Green Light. She was also louder and more rocking than JB was!

Dunno who opened for JB at Meadowbrook.

He played there. I was there. I might still have the ticket stub. I did lose some. He played Pine Knob from...let's see - the Coconut Telegraph tour was at Meadowbrook Ampitheatre (or whatever they called it). So I guess JB's first Pine Knob show was the Somewhere Over China tour (two nights in a ro...

Yeah. Not all. Do you resemble them or are you just trying to sell a book?

Re: Should Buffett be in the R&R Hall of Fame?

It seems Jimmy HAS influenced some as far as some emerging artists lately. He certainly hasn't influenced the overall music industry music wise. Business wise, yes, but that's not really rock'n'roll is it. If the Eagles and James Taylor are in it....shouldn't Jimmy then be in it? Is Gordon Lightfoot...

Re: Rare Jimmy Buffett memorabilia

About the coolest thing I've got is a test pressing record with "Please Take Your Drunken 15 year old Girlfriend Home", "Train To Dixieland", and alternate versions of "Kick it in Second Wind" and "Wonder Why We Ever Go Home" on it. Kick It In Second Wind is ...

Re: A Salty Piece of Land CD

I removed one song and included A Salty Piece Of Land on my media player for License To Chill since the song was recorded for that album. I like it in there but it doesn't really fit the overall mood of the LP. It is a mystery as to why he didn't bother to play the song on the tour. It's a great son...

Re: Your First Buffett Show

First Buffett show was at Meadowbrook outside of Detroilt, MI for the last show of the Coconut Telegraph Tour ("No rules! F u c k the rules!" he said!). No where close to a sell out. He played Pine Knob the next year two nights in a row. It may have been the next year a show was not sold o...

I don't think he named tours then. He was this wild and crazy blond hippy guy, who was extremely entertaining.

Re: What the heck is going on back East??

A Chicago and New England winter will take care of those gators... Not necessarily. Alligators are cold-blooded reptiles, just like turtles. Turtles manage to survive Upper Midwest winters by burrowing into the mud at the bottom of the pond and hibernating. Gators could probably do the same. ...
