Re: Equal Strain on All Parts Released
I’ve listened to this album quite a few times the past two days. I’m pleased with it and think it might be the best JB has done in a long time It’s not perfect, there are a couple of tunes I skip but overall I’d say everyone involved brought their “A” game Bubbles Up is beautiful but still too hard ...

Re: RIP - Jimmy Buffett
I first saw Jimmy in the mid ‘70s while in college and have been a parrot head ever since. Like all of you I just feel sick today. I’m honesty surprised and how I’ve been affected by the passing of a person I never actually met. It shows me what he’s given me over the decades It going to be a long t...

Re: First song from Songs you Don't Know By Heart released
Just listened to this track...and for it alone Id buy the album. This is JB as he was in the early 70's...absolutely beautiful.. The Story Teller at his finest The are only 4 musicians on the album, Jimmy, Mac, Peter Mayer and Eric Darken Yes, I like that. it makes the album simple, clean and not o...

This was one of my favorites in the bunch. I wish he’d release a vid of all of them

Re: 2nd Video from "Songs you don't know..."
I love these vids from him and his daughter. They are just natural and unproduced. And for all us guitar players out there, its good to see Jimmy muff a chord now and then, or do a "do-over" and start the song again.

Re: The Flip Side
Cussin Island seems to generate a decisive response from people, no muddle of the road. Being a grandpa of 5 I can relate to the lyrics. Maybe that’s true for others who like it But I absolutely love That’s My Wave, and several others. It’s an upbeat album My one regret is downloading from ITUNES. n...

Re: The Flip Side
I like it a lot too. I'm glad it doesn't feature any collaborations with country artists and is just Jimmy. I agree. I read a review that said it a consistent theme and feel. I am in agreement and that was sorely lacking in Songs from St E. I like the feel of this one throughout, and well produced

The Flip Side
Morning All
I am surprised that haven't been comments on the new album since its release, unless I cant find them.
Personally, I really like it. Much better than Songs from St E. There are a few tracks I could do without, but equally a few that I think are excellent.

Re: Coral Reefer Cannabis
I’ve got mixed feelings on it, but from a business standpoint it’s probably a good move Much like the retirement communities he has started he recognizes his fan base is an aging group. Many of us who grew up when pot was all around us in school. Me personally, I have never used and have no interest...

Re: African Friend
Interesting to me you mention this song...Ive been listening to JB since early 70's, and when SOS album came out I always skipped this song. Something about the intro I just didn't care for. But for some reason a few years ago I rediscovered it and it has since become one of my favorites. I think it...

Re: Any Musicians Here?
Hi Finzup I can’t speak to piano, but as far as guitar goes here’s my thoughts, assuming your familiar with Up-Down notation. The majority of jimmys songs, especially his ballads, work fine with the following Up-Down strum pattern. It also works with most country tunes. D-D-U-U-D-U-D—D-U-U-D-U.........

Re: Radio Margaritaville
RM does need to drop Matt Hoggatt from the DJ rotation though. He's terrible. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but there's something about his delivery that makes me cringe a bit... The other jocks do a better job of staying on point and flowing from song to song a bit quicker. That aside, Radio Margarita...

Re: How long have you been a Parrothead?
I know this is an older thread but since I stumbled upon it I thought Id jump in any maybe revitalize it. I first discovered Jimmy's music around '74-'75, thanks to my girlfriend at the time. My first concert was July 1977 at Merryweather Post Pavilion, Columbia MD. I was starting my sophomore year ...

Re: What did happen to Ilo? It's like he vanished.
For me at least, he failed to strike while the iron was hot, as the adage goes. I loved hearing him the first time he toured with Jimmy. I thought Home Again was an outstanding song. Then I kept looking at his web site, I waited for a CD...not much happened. It was about a year I think before he fin...

Just finished Burial Ground by Michael McBride. Its a solid, well written thriller/suspense adventure set in the Peruvian jungle. If you like works by James Rollins or the late great Michael Chrichton, you will really like this I think. If you have Amazon Prime its free for Kindle

Re: A Pirate Looks at Fifty E-Book Format??
I havent been able to find any of JB's books on the Kindle format. Amazon has a link you can click when you bring up that book, which requests the publisher to make it avaiable in e-format. We just need a lot of folks to do that. If you have better luck thne me please let us know. Thanks

Old Tour Question
I was looking at JB's tour schedule here, (very well done btw) & found the 1st show I saw back in '77. But what I found interesting was the tour numbers bewteen 79-'84. After that it explodes to big numbers. Just has he started to hit it big he pretty much dropped of the road schdeule. Im guessi...
