Our last stop was at the Canadian War Museum. Every summer, the Ottawa BluesFest and some other festivals take place on the big lawn.

Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley

Victoria Island is native land, and every summer there is an exhibit called the Aboriginal Experience. They have many activities and once in a while, someone comes from the West Coast to carve a totem pole. The island was the site of many old mills and electrical generating stations. Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley

Back in Ottawa, we took a walk on Victoria Island, in the middle of the Ottawa River. From there you have a great view of the Parliament Buildings, the National Gallery, some other buildings and some bridges. It was windy so I had to be careful not to fall in!

Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley

At Jacques Cartier Square in the centre of Old Montreal (all the tourists go there!) we saw the calèches (carriages) and some beautiful trees.
And I finally got my bike ride!

Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley

We stopped at the big, old church, Notre Dame.
And I tried to knock on a door at a very old house, but there was no doorknob!

Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley

Neil & Barb rented two of these nifty bikes, called Bixi (for BI-cycle + ta-XI) and went on a tour around the Old Port and the Harbour*. They said it was too windy for me, so I waited in the car. Barb didn't take enough pictures of the St. Lawrence River, where huge ships come and go up the Seaw...

First, we had brunch in the revolving restaurant on top of the Delta Hotel. It’s on the 30th floor! The visibility was great, and so was the food (the...

I have some more pictures of the kids in their costumes, but I'll send those privately to my home class.

Tomorrow, we're going to Montreal... (or Montréal) It's a big city in the province of Quebec (in French, that's Québec), next door.

Re: The Travels of Flat Stanley
