I’ve heard him close with tin cup multiple times.
We’ve gotten Tin Cup in Chicago at least four times in the past decade or so:

2011 (with no vocals after a power outage)
2012 (mid-show)
2016 (encore)
2017 (encore)

According to Radio Margaritaville- during rehearsals Jimmy and CRB were working up “Holiday” and an Irish cover they didn’t name for the High Tide tour
Well that’s a fun song. Beats hearing something like Knees of My Heart every single tour.

Re: Tour Name - High Tide Tour?

This came up on the M’ville podcast that came out yesterday or today. It’s SOASOAS: High Tide. One reason for keeping the SOASOAS name was because there’s little overlap between the 2018 and 2019 tour stops.

Re: Who's Going to Alpine Valley?? 07/20/2019

Interesting question... if you've gone to a concert at Alpine Valley and you realize that you are in no condition to drive safely, can the venue legally force you to leave?  Or can you 'sleep it off' in your vehicle in the parking lot until later the next morning? Or do they have to offer you a "Sa...

Re: Who's Going to Alpine Valley?? 07/20/2019

Since Detroit is the Tuesday before, maybe Cincinnati? Can't imagine a Chicago show on a Thursday, and right before Alpine either Or Indi. The only reason why I’m sorting of buying the “Chicago will be skipped” rumor is that there are usually two months between Chicago and Alpine. So unless Chicago...

Re: Who's Going to Alpine Valley?? 07/20/2019

I may wait to buy tickets. In 2016, I bought tickets about a third of the way up section 203 on the Sunday before the show for $30 each. I’ve read something on here about Ticketmaster releasing seats in waves so maybe there’s something to that...

ALPINE!

And what a year to return. I can fly my Bears flag over the Alpine lot. :D

Re: Alpine Valley and Detroit 2019 (Is it too early for this thread?)

I was just at Alpine for Zac Brown this past weekend. It really did a lot to reinforce how the people who say Wrigley is just as good (if not better) than Alpine are insanely wrong.

Was at the Wrigley show last week, was nice to get a confirmation during the show that he'll be back to Alpine next summer
As a Chicagoan who will not drink the “Wrigleyville is just as good if not better than a tailgate” kool-aid, this makes me happy.

I don’t know that I never want to hear Southern Cross and OPH, but both of those could definitely have use a break.

Re: Wrigley Field 2018

When this show was first announced, I predicted that the second straight year of Wrigley, on a Friday, a year after the World Series hype was going to be a much harder sell than 2017. That statement didn’t seem to go over very well here. Since then we’ve seen upper level tickets going 4 for $100, ti...

Re: Buffett Songs you just don't want to hear anymore....

I’m going to actually agree on God’s Own Drunk. It’s obviously played for the hardcore fans, but it is an energy killer live since there’s a lot of rambling and no hook. I can listen to that song occasionally, but it drags.

Re: Rank the Locations You've Seen Jimmy

1. Tinley. Grew up near it, now I can practically see it from my house. It gets the auto-win for that. 2. Alpine. I’m not even going to explain it. Some of you get it and some of you don’t. 3. Toyota Park (Bridgeview). Actually the sight lines were awful since it’s a soccer stadium, but 12 hours of ...

Re: SOASOAS 2018 TOUR Opening Song?

The second half of the KC setlist was a little “copy and paste” from previous years, but the first half was so good that I’m pretty mad there’s no Alpine and we just get stupid Wrigley for Chicago. I thought that was one of the best shows I’ve heard in a long time.

Nice set last night. Coast of Marseilles was awesome.

BEG can't be the opener for SOASOS could it?
Oh it could. It definitely could.

The second half of the little set was a little cookie-cutter but the first half had some nice change-ups.

Re: Songs we'd FLUV to hear

The good: we're about six songs into the Charleston show and we've already gotten Stars on the Water, Only Time Will Tell, and Jolly Man. Starkly different from what we've seen the past two years.

The bad: it looks like BEG is the opener for this tour.

I'd love to hear an updated version of "A Lot to Drink About" as a nightly closer.
I've been lobbying for this for quite a while. It's the perfect time for it.
