Far Side ( not the one with the talking Cows, though they're good too :o ) was very much a love it or hate it thing at first. I thought it was genius from the get go--well, all except that sort of Sade jazz thing in the middle--and fell in love with it. Altered Boy became my anthem, because it summe...

Thanks! And truth be known, I HATED Fruitcakes at first. I was a seminary student at the time and found the title track offensive. I love that song now. On a side note, I'm no longer a seminary student, but I'm still a PH. Go fig.

I saw some of too. I think this used to be called Fan Fare? Anyway, it's nice to think Jimmy would do this, but dream on....... Besides I don't think Nashville could HANDLE all his phans coming phrom all over the place for a free autograph. He'd put all the artists to shame. No doubt (btw--I...

The psychology of newness....more LTC

It seems that when EVERY new album comes out, we weep and gnash our collective teeth, throwing ourselves prostrate on the beach (spilling boat drinks) and crying before the tikki gods: it's new! I don't like it. :o :-? And I can understand. To non-PH's, it's just music. To us, Bubba's music is an ol...

It comes back to the classic argument: if he releases an album with a lot of old favorites along with some new stuff, he gets slammed by somebody for not recording anything new; if he records new stuff that sound vaguely familiar, then he's stuck in his 30 year rut; if he records all new songs, then...

What do you consider to be the 'must-have' or essentials in a collection of Jimmy Buffett music? Advice for building a great collection is always appreciated!
