Re: Why did Mansfield,MA show not sell out like prev years?

Been to Mansfield every year since 1991. Two years ago (2009) was somewhat depressing from a "sell out" perspective. We had 7 lawn seats and 4 pavillion (under the roof). Our friends with the lawn seats got closer than the folks with pavillion tickets. A person from GW was walking the parking lot tr...

Re: Any variation in JB concert venues from year to year?

You don't think the $150 ticket price on top of dismall economic conditions has anything to do with the shows not selling out? A Great Woods "uncovered" seat goes for $150 - that section of seating used be part of the lawn that sold for $50!!! Last year, we had to 2 of those "uncovered" seats we pai...

The Gillette show was pretty bad. The parking lot was great though. One of the 1997 Great Woods shows, I think the Havana Daydreaming tour Buffett seemed to be very subdued on stage, sitting on a bar stool a lot. The next day the newspaper review of the show revealed Buffett was sick and almost can...

I have been going to shows for 18 years in and around New England, New York and Florida and personally I would have to say last year's second show at Foxboro or Gillette Stadium as it is now called was the the worst of my 75 or so shows. Every year we go to both New England shows 1.) couples one nig...

Greed? I think not. More or less a common trend in the industry. Pearl Jam has done, The Dead, The Allman Brothers, etc. I thought I joined the Parrothead way too late in 1991. I remember that Outpost Tour show in Mansfield like it was yesterday. I have attended 50+ shows since (some better than oth...

"Beach House on the Moon" - 2000 East Hampton solo acoustic show was cool - Played tribute to all 3 of his kids. Also played "Gentleman of Leisure," and "Death of an Unpopular Poet." The following year he played John Hiatt's "Blue Telescope, " Steve Goodman's "Where's the Party," and ended that show...

I have always loved this song since I purchased Before the Beach back in 1993 or so. I have a stocking-stuffer CD someone gave - Jimmy Buffett - American Storyteller (or something like that) - never listened to it, but found just noticed last weekend that Turnabout is on there. My wife was cooking i...

He played "Somehwhere Over China" during the millenium show - came off very nicely.

Played "Where's the Party" at the last Montessori Benefit in 2002 I believe.

I have heard "Slow Boat to China" live quite a few times also, but I prefer to skip it.

Cini is bad? Great Woods is very similar......if you are on the lawn, forget seeing the show, and sound is low enough to carry on a coversation. I think the whole ampitheater experience in general leaves a lot to be desired anywhere.

I haven't noticed "Everbody's Talkin'?" Would love to see that put to rest, or at least break up the show different. The acoustic set is always in the middle. Start out acoustic or something. The year he started with Pencil Thin Mustache up on the lawn at GW was fun.

Somewhere Over China for me. Discovered it on a bootleg VHS that I bought of the millenium show. I had heard the song plenty of times, but gained a new appreciation for it at the time Roger hits the big gong.
