Re: The Freedom Tower is no more (poll)
Nice to see the US caving on the one thing that sets us apart from so many countries...sheesh.  This disgusts me. If the Chinese don't like the name they don't have to move in. Simple as that. I hope public outcry gets the name changed back...fast. It is not the US caving, it is the ow...

FOX News mocks Canadian military . . .
What a 'class act' from FOX News . . . [smilie=puking.gif] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS6cVJ5bFRc This show aired within hours of another four Canadian soldiers being killed by roadside bombs in Afghanistan. If FOX talked that way about this nation's military they'd be permanently off the air, i...

Re: Here's why the AIG bonuses don't bother me.
I am bothered by the AIG bonuses, but not surprised. The fact that a company like AIG signed contracts that allow such massive incentive payouts for such poor performance (and they are not unique in corporate America) should tell us something about how broken our system of so-called 'free market cap...

Re: American Legion Opposes President's Plan to charge wounded..
The American Legion serves as the only source for this story. No such policy proposal has yet been suggested. But some clarification is in order. When folks have multiple private health insurance coverages (spouses with different plans, etc) the private insurance companies coordinate their benefits,...

Re: Banning tailgaiting?
The underage girls who died in this accident didn't have tickets to the Chesney concert, however, they bought a ticket that entitled them to park in the Gillette Stadium parking lot and enjoy the tail-gating aspect of the concert. They then proceeded to binge drink for six hours. Gillette Stadium re...

Re: Two Jr. High teachers accused of sex with same student
I would be lying if I claimed that, as a thirteen year old, I never had fantasies about having sex with a number of my female teachers. That doesn't make what happened in this case OK, but it does point to what I think is an interesting difference between how men and women look at these issues. When...

Opinions are formed by experience .. . . . If they will “kick shoes” at a Cop.. They will Bully, beat and terrorize the rest of the world. . Maybe not the same day but it will (in a lot of cases) lead to more and more.. . . . Also in one last.. Leads to tale.. “ kicking shoes will lead to spitting,...

Re: 14 Year Old Impersonates Police Officer and Works a Shift!
Based on a Chicago Police Department 1st year salary of $43,000, I calculate a 5 and a half hour shift to be worth about $120.00.

Re: W.Va. Lawmaker Wants To Ban Barbie
Banning things never works. If Barbie were banned, very quickly an illicit trade in Barbies would spring up, driving prices through the roof and thereby producing another profit center for organized crime. Think of the violence associated with the illicit drug trade. The violence produced by an illi...

Re: Police Officer assault 15 year old girl
Deputy Paul Schene clearly belongs in a different line of work, but I can't imagine what legitimate line of work that might be, where a man standing 6'2" and weighing in at 195 lbs gets to attack young girls when they get 'uppity'. Some kind of pimp or sex trade enforcer comes to mind, but then...

Re: To rant? Or not to Rant?
If I'm not mistaken, there are already many internet forums where folks can go and rant about politics to the exclusion of everything else. Most of them appear to be based on a core ideology (Right politics for example) where those friendly to the founding ideology can rant to their heart's content ...
