Not surprising, though! Jimmy was the only star in the room to ante up the $50,000 other than Jon Stewart! What a guy!

Jimmy at "Night of Too Many Stars"

Just saw JB on the show after Jon Stewart asked people to stand up and donate $50,000. I don't know if it was Jane or what, but some lady sitting next to Jimmy was the only one to give $50,000. Haven't seen photos of Jane recently...can anyone confirm this?

Buffett homework - Consumer Behavior!

The 7th edition of my Consumer Behavior class entitled "Buying, Having and Being" by Michael R. Solomon cites in the chapter about group influence and opinion leadership the phenomena of Parrotheadism, based on a September 11, 2004 article in the Boston Herald about the Fenway shows. The c...

I just spent a week in NYC visiting some mates of mine and finally got to try Landshark for myself. The first one was rough sailing, but after that they improved a bit. Still not something I would buy again, but would drink if someone bought it for me. Seems like everything good gets to us last in E...

I like the new one better.

Didn't this whole thing start out with an idea this Bransford lady had, shared with Jimmy, and then he kind of "took over"? Maybe he had great ideas, maybe his name is just so marketable she was willing to play second fiddle...

Bourdain's one of our favorites, too. He was probably just having one of his bad "flash-back" days. Every day is one of those days with him. His sarcastic cynicism is one of the reasons I find him so hilarious and engaging. I hope "No Reservations" goes on forever, and that Anth...

Part of JB's appeal, at least for me, is that he's not concerned with what critics think of him. He makes music he likes and there just happen to be millions of like-minded people scattered around the earth that've stayed with him for decades. He's not in it to win awards and break sales records. Th...

JB reference on "No Reservations"

I'm a huge fan of "Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations" on the Travel Channel. A repeat episode this afternoon was filmed in Miami, and Bourdain hopped on down to Key West. And I quote: "...and although I despise the musical styling of Jimmy Buffett, I have a feeling I'm going to love ...

And another thing:

Why is the top button buttoned on a shirt such as that? That just adds insult to injury!

Apparently he was on GHB at the time of the arrest, which is a date rape type drug usually associated with teenagers. Just adds to the mystique that is one Nick Nolte.

"like Jimmy Buffett on acid."

I'm sitting at my desk working on a project with VH1 on in the background; "40 Craziest Celebrity Mugshots" is the soupe du jour . Anyway, Nick Nolte's crazy mugshot was #1, and the narrator referred to him as "looking like Jimmy Buffett on acid." It was obviously a reference to ...

To put it bluntly, who give a $hit about his political views? Amen! Let's not drag ourselves through the mud with politics at BN. That's a topic that ruins COUNTLESS messageboards across the internet and breeds boardtrolling. So we need to be mindful of that. Furthermore, does it matter? If JB's so...

I guess this is one of those things that show the detractors the CEO of Margaritaville, Inc. is still a man--a good man--that does something other than take our money hand over foot and turn his name into an empire.

What a great story for everyone involved!
