"Perrier Blues"

Who wants to hear this gem put in the Bama Breeze tour rotation? Or maybe "Morris' Nightmare"?

I really, really like "Perrier Blues" and it's got that signature Buffett sound. Why not bring it back? Why not rerecord a studio version for the next album?

Thoughts, anyone?

This is a new one for me. I know "Please Take Your Drunken 15 Year-Old Girlfriend Home" has a similar backstory, though.

For me PCL comes from the fact that I wish my entire life was one big Buffett concert, so I just never want it to end. When I a keet, I'd say stuff like that too (only since I was young, it was stuff like "I wish we could hve chocolate cake EVERY day instead of just for my birthday") and ...

A lot of Jimmy's arrangements use very similar chord progressions and rhythms. I mean there are only so many combinations of those basic things that still fits inside an artist's "sound", there's bound to be similarity. I think the majority of DSTC sounds like rehashes of JB songs (particu...

I'm surprised so few people actually seem to like "Whoop De Doo". I love it, but Knopfler's version is a little bit better.

I'm still holding out hope that I'll cross paths with the Head Parrot someday. I think there's enough karma in the universe to bring to deserving people what they truly want in their hearts, so I try to have faith that I'll have that chance. (I'm just sick of waiting for it!) ;) I think more than an...

I've started flipping though a book called "Crafty Screenwriting" by Alex Epstein (a must-have for anyone interested in writing movies) and "The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer" by Philip Carlo. It looks pretty intense and I loved the HBO documentaries on the subj...

In general I think Tom Cruise is a grade-A douche, but I have to admit he nailed the part in "Magnolia".

Because they're determined to barely make the playoffs and lose in the first round (at best) this season.

I remember seeing Magnolia and thinking there were some terrific performances by some very gifted actors in a very weird movie. I loved it. Couldn't believe I hadn't seen it until tonight. It's one I can watch a dozen times and get something new out of it every time. Same as with "The Big Lebo...
