I don't think people criticize the songs because they don't like them. They criticize them because they get played all the time to the exclusion of other, equally good, songs that we hardly ever get to hear. Exactly, Larry. I doubt anyone here would say "I hate Margaritaville, OPH, BEG, WDWGDA...

It seems to me that he's done to Jimmy what Harry Connick, Jr. did to Frank Sinatra years ago. Chesney and Connick are both talented, but they're just n...

How about "Kick it in Second Wind", "Ragtop Days", "Livingston Saturday Night" or maybe even "If the Phone doesn't Ring"? I'm dying to hear "Livingston Saturday Night" in person, and I personally think it'd be a GREAT song to start a show with. But,...

Re: Jimmy in Adelaide...seriously!

Mostly seriously! I was in The Comics Shop near Rundle Mall today and "Northeast Texas Women" from "Live at Texas Stadium" was being played on one of the local radio stations. Considering it's only been out a week and Australia is usually way behind the USA musically, I was pret...

TIKIboy,

Just wanted to say your license plate avatar is brilliant. That's a JB reference even most Parrotheads would miss if they just saw it on the street. I'm not entirely sure I would've even recognized it if it hadn't been here on BN!

And thanks for the Ramos link!

I should show this to my roommates, who think I'm a lunatic when they look at the summer months of my calendar...they think it's unreasonable that I won't pay $15 to go see the All-American Rejects when they play on campus in two weeks, but have spent **muffle-cough-muffle** dollars on tickets to 5...

It seems like the media is sometimes very critical of JB (mostly jealousy, I think), but I'm glad to see that there are still guys like Reg out there. This is one of the most positive (and fun-to-read) articles I've read in a while, particularly about JB!

I hate to say it, but I agree. There was some good stuff in it, but it drug on too long in certain parts. I've definitely read worse than ASPOL, though.

Sweet!! I better get to reading. I am in the middle of Joe Merchant and still have to read APL@Fifty and Salty Piece of Land. Have you read "Tales from Margaritaville"? If not, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend you read it before "Salty Piece of Land". You'll have a greater appreci...

I have this feeling that since Jimmy keeps bringing the guy around and singing his praises, there's something big brewing. Maybe Jimmy...

I decided against the closer limited view tickets and settled for some cheap low-700 level tickets, roughly middle way up the pavillion on the aisle. I got them for $136 a piece (including S&H and insurance) which is cheaper than buying online from that damned Ticketmaster, since they charge you...

Had a bottle in Gulf Shores during Stars, and figured that was the first and last bottle. Copy that...I had my first, probable last bottle at Margaritaville Cafe in New Orleans.
