"Lucky Stars" is an outstanding song for those days when nothing is going right, but you're thankful to be going home to someone you love dearly, knowing the world will be right when you see them. It's one of those "everything is right with the world" kind of songs. Love it. I'm...

Re: Robert Randolph and The Family Band

I was amazed at the large amount of young people in the audience in St. Louis who came to see the new master of blues/funk and his amazing skills on the pedal steel guitar. At 40, I was one of the older guys there but RR's energy, passion and pure talent drew me into the pit of revelers in front of...

No love for Mexico at all? "Mexico" is one of my all-time favorite songs period. I like Jimmy's version more than James Taylor's just because it sounds a bit fuller and richer, and I think Jimmy's voice is better suited to it (if you didn't know better you'd swear Jimmy wrote it himself)....

If I had to pick only ONE, however, it would be PROBABLY Flesh & Bone. A couple close seconds would be Beach House On the Moon and Lucky Stars. "Flesh and Bone" is a little quirky, but fun. I dig it. "Lucky Stars" is an outstanding song for those days when nothing is going r...

I want them to make it more about the MUSIC and the PERFORMER at halftime than the visuals or special effects. You can only do so much with visuals before it seems redundant and silly. If you want it to be about the music and the performer, where does all this fit in? Have lots of hula and island d...

People who think this would be a flop, hear this: The NFL is at all-time high popularity. Worldwide, even. The past few years the halftime shows have featured the likes of Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and now Prince: music to appeal to the average-to-younger boomers. Does Jimmy not perfectly ...

Two issues:

1) I prefer legality.

2) I'm in college and they have those servers permanently blocked anyway.

(I like the picture in your post signature, by the way. Very clever. 8) )

I am trying to track down a copy of the original Bananarama version of this song, covered by JB and Club Trini on a live album. I've located it as far as being a B-side of "Cruel Summer", but can't find any online downloads, streams, or even physical copies for sale. Anyone have any copies...

A.B. has over 50% of the alcohol market share in the USA, so why take it anywhere else? With A.B., Jimmy can get his product anywhere he wants it. A.B.'s BudNet technology ensures there is always product on the shelf, so Jimmy would be foolish to give it to anyone else for distribution. I hate to sa...

Give me a Budweiser any day over that awful Corona B.S. "Parrotheads" love so much. Talk about a bad beer. Might as well stick a lime wedge in a Colt .45 40-ounce and give 'er a whirl!

I like it better live, maybe because most of the times I heard it this year Billy Payne was playing piano on it. That's the point I was trying to make, that I like the studio version more because I've heard how it sounds WITH energy behind it (i.e., Bill Payne). Speaking of Zevon covers, the tribut...

Is it just me, or has Jimmy's version of this song grown on you over the summer? I've noticed that although I was not crazy about it when the "Hoot" soundtrack first came out, after hearing it twice live over the summer I really enjoy listening to it (both live and studio versions). Anyone...

I've seen it reported that from all of his brands combined (including records, touring, etc) he rakes in $60-80 million each year. I would say the Margaritaville brand is his cash cow (mainly with the restaurants themselves) at about 2/3 of his non-music related income. I would say the other 1/3 of ...

Jimmy/Lenny Kravitz @ Jazzfest

I've seen the picture in the photo gallery of these two greats together on stage. Did they actually perform together? If so, when was it and what songs did they do together?

Any copies of that performance floating around out there?
