Man, this "Elvis Presley Blues" sounds like the real deal--he wasn't kidding when he said Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three!

This is a VERY good track! Not what I would consider typical Buffett, but it's wonderful.

Maybe if he likes the studio work so much he'll keep putting out records while he's scaling his tours back . He could never put out enough music to keep me satisfied! As long as he's churnin' em out, I'll be listening to em! bite your tongue! (not you, Alison!) Thanks...I did that again recen...

This song could get as much or more airplay as "Bama Breeze" if DJ's get it in their heads to give it a shot.

"RH" is far superior (as is "Bama Breeze") to about 95% of the music on today's country stations anyway. ;)

This song sounds like it could've been on "Banana Wind" or "Barometer Soup"...seems to fit that mold to me.

Man, I've missed that John Lovell. I hope he's back for a while longer.

I thought this would be a hokey song (a la WITHPRIWIAB; whew!), but I really like it so far. It's got a rich sound and it's pretty clever. I dig it.

I agree. Sonny is very talented, but all his lead solos sound exactly the same to me. Anyone else feel that way about him?

Not knocking his talent--he's great. But I think Pete is more versatile stylistically.

Decent so far, I'm sure it will grow on me... The actual songs aside, I'm loving hearing Jimmy's take on stuff, it's better than liner notes! I agree. Buffett albums are like onions. Many layers that require repeated listenings so the album can grow on you. You listen to your onions? In other news,...

I'm hoping for a Special Edition version of "BBBB" with DVDs, updated booklet, more songs, etc. Or a "BBBB Vol. 2" that's got nothing to do with the original, which would be an entirely new collection. Wouldn't THAT be nice! And speaking of "BBBB", why wasn't "Gre...

Re: Surprised by "Hot Water"

If you like "Great Heart" I STRONGLY recommend you find the Johnny Clegg version. It's the original and it's vastly superior in my humble opinion. I never even realized it's a cover--it just sounds so Buffetty to me that it never crossed my mind. Johnny Clegg is the man He has a greatest ...

Pre-you is an awesome song and a phrase that has found it's way in to my vocabulary.... Same here. One day my girlfriend and I were looking through pictures and she found one of me and an ex of mine. She asked who it was and I just played the song for her. She smiled and simply said "okay"...

Surprised by "Hot Water"

I have to admit that I was never itching to buy this particular album, but last night I was studying for my impending cognitive science midterm (yikes!) and decided I was ready to expand my Buffett collection. So I direct my good ole MacBook to the music store in iTunes and start browsing to see wha...

Isn't that the song Jimmy says he loves so much to perform? Or am I thinking of "Trying to Reason with the Hurricane Season"?

Either way, "12-Volt Man" is a tremendously wonderful song.

Re: Any updates?

Where are we at here? Any progress reports? It has been almost a month since the last update. Is there any way that someone who's already got a copy (or will be gettng one very soon) could just put this concert up on one of the FTP sites? I want to make a video using the audio from the concert for ...
