Topic: Should "In God We Trust" be removed from US curren

I don't know if it crosses the church and state line, but I really don't think it honors God in anyway especially the way Americans use the money it's printed on. People freak out when someone threatens to take "In God We Trust" off the currency or "under God" from the Pledge. I...

What Amazing Weather

Here in West Michigan, I can't recall better summer weather. It was never super hot this summer and has been sunny and nice almost all summer. Fourth of July weekend weather was the best I can recall in years. So, here's a FINS UP to the amazing summer we've had. :D :D :D Now, it can rain like heck ...

I'm not grouchy, I'm a curmudgeon. Actually, Mr. Bits, you were the incredibly nice person who put my wife over her fundraising goal when she was doing a half marathon last year for Team in Training...So, even though I've never met you, I am guessing that "grouch" or "curmudgeon"...

I'd never seen the cowbell skit either till somebody posted it here.

It is one of the top 10 funniest SNL scenes ever.

Thanks, Dan! I was typing my last response before I saw what you'd posted. That put a huge smile on my face. Like I said earlier, I feel like a self indulgent jerk for using this board to vent about me, but now that I have, your response and SGH's response and Penny's response have all put big smile...

Thanks, everybody. There are so many wonderful people on this site. :D It's crazy that I am so stressed out. To date, it's been an amazing year BUT I am a huge worrier and am most worried that the momentum will precipitously drop off. :o A lot of hard work with a little fly fishing to keep the stres...

Think I'll toast to your "goodbye" tonight with a Landshark, LIPH.
But I'm a lovable, hot, old grouch. 8)

I am just being part whiner, part self indulgent jerk, part goofball and part plain old PITA. (pain in the...) :-? I agree. I think the "Jimmy Sabbatical" is the way to go. Things are actually going pretty well and I am being an EEYORE. Big time. I just got married 3 weeks ago to an amazin...

I have become disillusioned with this whole "parrothead" thing as well as this website. Maybe I am just sour grapes because of the lousy economy, etc, but I don't like the idea that I am truly becoming one of the few resident "grouches". One of the threads argues "this is a ...

Jimmy, thanks for Anguilla. That was a dream come true. As you said at the show, "today, Anguilla is Margaritaville!" Soccer stadium shows in industrial parts of town - not even close to conjuring up Margaritaville. Thanks, but no thanks. I've got way better ways to spend my time and money...

I know somebody who is very new to the whole "parrothead" thing. They're just out of college and they don't post here. However, I got an email from them indicating that this year they were doing Alpine, both Chicago shows, Philly, Pittsburgh and Pine Knob. All were lawn seats obtained from...

Absolutely disagree. I live in Grand Haven, Michigan where I freeze my a$$ off for half the year. From now on, when I want an escape, instead of giving Mr. Margaritaville, Inc $310 just for concert tickets for 2, I will be putting that cash into a trip to the islands. 3 skipped concerts = airfare fo...

I have been complaining A LOT lately about the setlist, frat boy crods, etc. One thing I will not bemoan - Jimmy Buffett's choice as to how he travels. In A Pirate Looks at 50 he discusses at length why he and his son "the men" choose to fly in the very loud, slow and not so comfortable He...

I guess, it really is "my own damn fault". Jimmy is on his way becoming a billionaire catering to people who largely want to give him their money to shake their asses to BEG, CIP, and buy his tequila, beer (which I actually like), rum (which assuredly will be swill), and Margaritaville jun...

I find it funny that the people who complain about things getting stale are the some of the ones who go to 4-5 shows a year. Do you expect Jimmy to change the set list at every show on the same tour? For those of us to only get to a show once a year at best I think it is still the best money spent ...

What is Opus One? www.opusonewinery.com Heaven in a glass. Worth every penny of the $160 a bottle it costs. I've had it twice in my life. Both times it was a gift for services rendered, once for dressing as the Easter Bunny for brunch at a 5 star hotel. My wife at the time had to dress as Mother Go...
