Based on the fact that he made lot and lots of $ with the Dallas stadium show, the Houston stadium show and the two Foxboro stadium shows, there will be more stadium shows in 2008! Just a hunch... Maybe baseball stadium shows in Cleveland and Baltimore. Oh yeah...He may want to revisit Fenway...

Live from MOTM CD?

On the back of the newest Coconut Telegraph sales flier there is an advertisement for a CD of about a dozen songs recorded at MOTM performances. The CD is being sold to help a charity. Jimmy's on the CD with a version of Woman Goin Crazy on Caroline St. I am going to order the CD. Do any of you have...

Dr. Corona, KISS did not become rich as kings - Gene Simmons did. When KISS was apparently fading into oblivion as the 1970's ended, Gene Simmons (the smart one of the band) convinced the others to sell off their interests in any rights. Seemed like a good idea at the time to them, maybe. Fast forwa...

I think Kenny's cheesy but I admire him for selling out stadiums and becoming incredibly rich with having merely repackaged Jimmy Buffett to a largely college age crowd. While Jimmy was getting stoned and drunk in his thirties, Kenny is becoming a very successful ultra capitalist in his thirties. To...

2006 VW Golf. Great on gas and drives pretty good for a small car. Until last year I drove Jeep Grand Cherokees for the past 10 years. $3.00 a gallon gas and driving 40,000 miles a year ended my streak of Jeeps last summer. They were terrible on gas. That Yaris looks like great fun and bet it's grea...

I've been to Key West once. That was in 1997 and that was enough. It may have had a glorious "pirate" or "drug runner" past but that seemed a lifetime ago. The chickens running around town was the only aspect of its former semi lawless past. I understand they've even rustled up t...

Movie Thoughts - Into the Wild

I was really looking forward to seeing Into the Wild and got to see it on Saturday. The book was so compelling. The movie was so so, I thought. There was about 30 minutes that could have been cut and I just didn't think that Emile Hirsch (despite huge sacrifices on his part) helped portray "Ale...

I feel sad for anyone who spends money on such a thing and I pray that my friends and relatives who know I love Buffett's music don't waste their money on that as a gift for me.

If they want a quiet week of just relaxing amidst some of the most beautiful beaches on Earth, then Anguilla is perfect. If money is not an option, this would be my choice of where to stay: www.cuisinartresort.com This one isn't so luxurious but is on the same amazing beach. It's about 1/2 as much a...

It used to be 2 or 3 a year but now I am planning for maybe 1 show a year. 90% of the usual stops feature basically the same set list. There's nothing wrong with that except when it costs $150 a ticket to hear the same songs. I wont do lawn seats anymore as I am too old to put up with people puking ...

Where I like to fish in the Everglades I see manatees at least several times a day. I've never tried to swim with them, though. There are lots of 10 foot long gators sunning themselves along the shore and I don't think it would be a good idea to go for a swim. :o Seeing them up at the Crystal River ...

Never heard Jimmy do Trippin Billies but I think it is a very cool song.

Jimmy's version of Scarlet Begonias does great justice to an amazing song by the Grateful Dead. The other great Dead cover is Jane's Addiction's version of Ripple.

Honestly, the same argument can (and has been) made about opening National Parks to the masses and making them more accessible..... Fillmore Tix on Ebay

There are tix for the Fillmore show on ebay. The markup is a minimum 300%. Despite Jimmy's efforts to cut out the scumbag scalpers, some always find a way to get through. I love the ads that expect paypal payment immediately and then expect the buyer to be foolish enough to meet the seller at the ga...

I don't get why people like cruise ships. I think that are one of the worst travel inventions ever. Because you can see 3,4 or 5 different ports of call on 1 trip for a fraction of what you'd pay if you tried to do it yourself. That's fine for senior citizens who don't mind that they're sharing the...

Also, use the equation I like to use...

Do the cruise ships regularly stop there?

If so, then it's a paradise lost. Cruise ships destroyed Key West. Cruise ships are killing coastal Alaska. F'ing t shirt shops. Sad thing is that many of them (esp in Key West) are not owned by locals.
