Re: Don't they teach Geography in the US anymore??

They teach it in my daughter's middle school....and did in elementary as well. I always thought I had a pretty good handle of geography, but she's thrown a few of the latest African countries at me and I've had to go look them up!! Last night we were at the little family pizza pub after my daughter'...

Actively dislike her in the extreme. I like my job, like my co-workers, the company if fine overall (I don't like their idea of 'offering' vacation'), the pay acceptable ....but the ***insert nasty name*** that is my direct manager is a ***insert another nasty name worse then the first***. Just this...

Re: Berry Barium Contrast Smoothie Antidote?

I had to drink two pints of the stuff yesterday for a CT scan. I can't get the thought of the taste and texture out of my mind, and it's been twenty hours by now. I tried beer, root beer, chinese food, and smoked salmon so far. Still get sick to my stomach thinking about it. I'll never drink a non-...

Re: Sammy Hagar Livin' It Up

Ok so this album has been out a while and I forgot about it but just downloaded it from iTunes. Love it and it's even more "tropical" than previous stuff. I know it's been said before and probably by me but I'd love to see Jimmy and Sammy do something together. I would to. I have some of ...

Also they seem to get "stuck" on comedians and push them pretty hard - and well I don't necessarily think they are all that funny....like Mike Birbiglia and Tim Wilson That is a matter of taste though...I LOVE Tim Wison. We've seen him live several times and he is a riot...and very smart ...

Re: National Treasure 2

Anyone see it? Took my nephew the other night . . . I thought it was pretty cool . . . but there is also a big set up for a 3rd National Treasure . . . without giving anything away I was wondering if people had thoughts on what page 47 in the president's book refers to . . . (I have my idea . . . f...

Daughter heard the song and asked about the Cali, calais song. Anyone know what it means? A google search turned up a vague reference to a place in France (?) Any further info appreciated! It's "Caye con les". Calais is a city on the French side of the English channel....this would maybe ...

I think it's increasingly unhealthy for kids to have their Mom's or Dad's world revolve around them. IMHO it's unfair to them; they're trying to discover who they are, their place in the world, and they don't need the added burden of feeling like their decisions affect our well-being as parents. I ...

Re: What kind of parent are you?

No...really??? My world revolves around Jim and Mollie. Those who know me at all, know both of my kids. I have a life besides being a Mom but truthfully, I'd rather be with them than with anyone else. They are a part of most of everything I do. Some have said I am "too much" into them. I ...

Was just up in PIB for opening weekend- definitely recommend this hotel, it's with-in walking distance / stumbling distance to the center of downtown and the bars. Also note, the Miller ferry is cheaper, but slower (about 15-20 min), the Jet-Express is quicker (about half the time) but more expensi...
