The first time I saw them was 2002/2003 New Years in New Orleans. The show went from nine at night until six in the morning. By far, the best show I had ever seen. Have seen him a few times since and will continue to do so.

The Knockout Artist by Harry Crews. I never get tired of reading his stuff. He really knows how to create oddball and downtrodden characters like noone else I've read. He makes Carl Hiassan and other Florida writers seem Disney-like. Harry Crews doesn't just let us see the dirty side of life, he le...

Toby Keith being sued

Apparently he ripped off "I love this bar" from a Key West musician who recorded "tourist city bar" in 1996. I heard the "tourist city bar" and I think Toby needs to shell out some big bucks. Too close, in lyrics and melody. I forget the other guys name at the moment. I...

True at First Light Held off on it for a long time. Bought a first edition copy at the Miami book fair for two bucks, so figured what the hell. Was a little skeptical about it seeing as he didn't get to finish it and put all the little fine touches. His son cut it down from something like two-thousa...

Martillo, sucks for you. I will never buy a t-shirt for thirty-five dollars, but more power to you. As for the show, I thought it was great. And I wasn't born until seventy-nine, but have still been to plenty of shows so by no means a newbie either. Ending the show with Defying Gravity couldn't have...

They are all despicable sh!tballs that are constantly lying and are only driven by greed. Our politicians have drifted so far from what our founding fathers had set up for us. Both parties are a disgrace and for us, Americans, to actually pick sides and argue who is lying less is an embarassment. Un...

I saw Derek Trucks play with Dickie Betts and then with Govt Mule at the Pensacola Springfest a few years ago. And I think he is on his way if not already there as the best guitar player around.

Hank III

Just downloaded a few of his shows. Some unusual stuff the guy does. I like it. Specially, how he does the three different sets with different styles of music. Really dug his tribute to classic country, "Gettin Wasted with all my Country Heros." Don't know if thats the name, but that was t...
